Positiv:: Das Zimmer ist gut ausgestattet und sehr comedienne. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sehr schönes, gut eingerichtet altes Hotel mit modernen Annehmlichkeiten.

Negativ:: Der Service in den Restaurants war etwas sporadisch. Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche etwas schwach. Kein Check-out am Fernseher, und persönliches Auschecken war langsam.

Negativ:: I would have expected more than frozen French fries (which were not very hot) for the ridiculous cost of €43. The tables in the Winter Gardens had a shelf underneath which banged into our legs when we moved in the chairs to eat. Most people only had drinks not meals. Perhaps it is more suited as a Lounge Bar.

Positiv:: The hotel has an amazing restaurant with great food, and a view of the Acropolis. It is also well situated, and isn't too far from many tourists sites or the airport. The food was amazing too!

Negativ:: The hotel doesn't have a fitness centre and you need to use the one next door. It's quite uncomfortable, especially for late night workout sessions.

Positiv:: The location is excellent, close to the hop on hop off start point, which is very convenient. Staff is excellent as well as the breakfast and room. Very beautiful view from the restaurant.

Negativ:: When I was booking the hotel I saw a photo from a swimming pool with Acropole view. Just when I got there I discovered that it didnt exist. We could use the swimming pool from another hotel which was indoor. It was extremelly disappointing!!!!

Negativ:: Breakfast is not a 5* stars hotel breakfast, choice is not wide, just the basics. The rest of the concierges are not welcoming, not very helpful, and have a supercilious attitude. Plus, on our day of check-out on Sept 1St, we were not allowed to have a late check out. So we stayed at the lobby, with no problem. My daughter was feverish, and I had to ask the bellman where is the closest pharmacy. No problem till now. But then comes a group of 20+ persons, Asians, with their guide, they sat in the lobby, extremely noisy, feet and shoes on the canapés, no problem until now, until their EXTREMELY NOISY AND CARELESS FOR OTHER GUESTS guide, started to present to them every single detail for their upcoming trip to the islands. More than one hour!!! I went to the concierges desk and showed disappointment, they did not do anything. After another half an hour, I had to go again to the concierges desk, blame them and the hotel rather than the Asians, because this is complete disrespect to all the other guests. I told them that they shouldn't have let this happen in the lobby of the hotel, and they should have planned to put them in a side room. And I threatened to put all this on Trip Advisor, which I will. Only then, they called the manager who asked the group and their not-appealing guide to move to another room. But it was quite too late after 1.30 hours. And I will sure not stay again in a hotel who doesn't respect and take care of the well-being of all its guests

Positiv:: The decor, the room are comfortable and fresh. The 10th floor was amazing. The pool, the restaurant and most important the breath taking view of the Acropolis. It never gets old. The decor the the hotel is wonderful. The front desk was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is truly a breakfast .The staff is friendly and efficient. All round fantastic.

Negativ:: The only thing I didn't like in our room 204 was the shower leaked through to the toilet and the hand shower needs changing. There was no view from the window.

Negativ:: No window in my room Despite being a bedding company there was no duvet in the room and when requested one they could not provide me with this.

Positiv:: I booked a double room urban view and I asked expressively to have a very quiet room. I received a reply from the hotel stating that all their rooms are quiet. When arrived the room was not quiet at all and after having making them know I received an upgrade for free. The new room was meeting the requirement being at the door six on the back side. I really appreciated this attitude. The location is great and easy to reach both from the airport and the Piraeus. Breakfast selection and ambience is nice.

Negativ:: Their regular rooms are not quiet although they have double glass windows based on the room I’ve been offered at 230 euro per night. This is not enough considering the noise from the street in front of the hotel. I’m aware that Greek standards of quietness might be different than other culture more inclined to it, however they position themselves as offering a high quality sleep experience thanks to their wonderful mattresses and pillows. The high quality they offer should be supported by a quiet environment too.

Positiv:: Das Coco-Mat bietet alles was ein Stadthotel braucht. Die Zimmer sind gross und sauber. Das Bett ist sehr bequem. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist gut, etwas ausserhalb von Zentrum im Botschaftenviertel. In der Nähe findet man viele nette Restaurants und Cafés. Der Transfer vom Flughafen zum Hotel dauert ca. 40min. Bis zur nächsten Metro sind es 5 min. zu Fuss und ins Zentrum ca. 10 min.

Negativ:: Das Wlan ist ein bisschen langsam. Die Inside Zimmer haben zwar eine Balkon aber in den Innenhof.

Positiv:: Das Frühstück war hervorragend und sehr abwechslungsreich. Wir hatten das Glück ein Zimmer mit Balkon und den Innenhof zu bekommen... damit war es sehr ruhig. Die Zentrale Lage ist einfach perfekt und wesentliche Highlights von Athen zu Fuß zu erkunden. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und überaus freundlich - absolut top ... gerne wieder.

Negativ:: Das einzige hier wäre: das Badezimmer sollte an einigen Stellen etwas renoviert werden. Sonst gibt es hier keine Makel oder negatives zu berichten.

Positiv:: We loved the design of the hotel, the spaciousness of the room, the complimentary breakfast and all the clever and creative branding. We also really loved the neighborhood — we were in easy walking distance to great bars, restaurants and shops, and only about a mile away from Placa.

Negativ:: I wish we had upgraded to a room with a view, as our interior room only had a small narrow window facing a wall. But that was our fault, not the property's.

Positiv:: Superbly clean, excellent location, friendly staff, this hotel delivers an extremely high quality guest experience. Where else can you find a decadent pillow menu with ten types of pillows and a dream bed made up of four different layers of mattresses, for that perfect night’s sleep??

Negativ:: The room was supposed to have an open view on the acropolis, that was not it at all. We had to get out of the room to see it and there was an antena blocking the way! We were expecting a better view.

Positiv:: This was a clean and adorable hotel. The staff was phenomenal! The location did not be beat. While the room was small, since I was traveling alone it complete meet my needs.

Negativ:: Our room was a little bit small for two large luggage bags but still a lovely room.

Positiv:: Service was 100% Room spotless very clean Breakfast with amazing, with such anmazing view. very helpful and genuinely happy staff who really were interested in you and wishing to make your stay one to remember for the right reasons. Location wise, its spot on bang in the middle of everything.

Negativ:: If l had to complain about anything its the light on the aircon unit... it was so bright it was like a night light...

Positiv:: It was one of the most fun and interesting hostels I have visited. I love the theme and wish I had been staying there longer!

Negativ:: Only issue would be the rooms require a key card for power, so there was often a bit of shuffling required with the other guests when someone wanted to leave the room

Positiv:: The hostel is amazing overall, it’s incredibly clean, the location is amazing, you can easily reach all of the attractions in Athens within 15 minutes.

Positiv:: I was able to check in early as I landed on a morning flight which was amazing as I’d flown during the night and I was knackered. The place was really quirky and the room facilities were great. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and very good location, walking distance to Acropolis in a cool area lots of street art and cafes / bars and a flea market nearby

Negativ:: I don’t have any negatives to share although I did only stay one night and I’m not sure how it would be for longer stays, in saying that I’m planning to return for stopovers in future.

Negativ:: I booked the King guest room for 3 people. On arrival the room was set up for two people, towels, cups, toiletries etc we advised reception on our way out to dinner that we required another towel etc however we never received these meaning that 3 adults had to use 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels between us. There was an extra bed put into the room which appeared to be a childs bed. The balcony door was broken and did not close which meant the traffic noise was bad. All in all the experience left a lot to be desired.

Positiv:: I would like to commend Alex for always going above & beyond to ensure we have a fabulous experience each time we stay at the Hilton. Alex’s customer service skills & professionalism is continuously outstanding.

Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbüffet, Dachterrasse mit großartigem Ausblick. Sehr hilfsbereites und aufmerksames Personal, sowohl an der Rezeption wie auch im Room-Service und bei der Bedienung beim Frühstück.

Positiv:: The Athens Gate Hotel is in the perfect location in the centre of many of the city's attractions that are within walking distance. From the hotel rooftop restaurant there is a fantastic panoramic view of the city and also of the Acropolis. Directly across the road is the Temple of Zeus site. The lovely town of Plaka with it's gorgeous shops, cafes and restaurants is a 5 minute walk away. The entrance to the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum and the Temple of Zeus are only a few minutes walk away. The rooms are light, airy, spacious and very modern and clean with comfortable beds. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast included is delicious. I have stayed at Athens Gate Hotel twice (September 2019 and August 2018). Highly Recommended !!

Negativ:: No issues - everything is perfect that's why I returned a second time.

Positiv:: What is there not to like? The location is perfect, steps away from Plaka and major attractions. The hotel/room was clean, nice and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond from our arrival to departure. We spent 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon here and couldn’t have been happier. Extremely disappointed that we didn’t stay here our final night of our trip after staying in the islands before returning home.

Positiv:: The room is small but very comfortable. The room is very modern, very hi-tech. Everything is controlled by a tablet, from air conditioning and lights to the television, which even had a channel in my language (Portuguese). The location of the hotel I found a bit dangerous, but I may be wrong. The hotel has a 24-hour cafeteria, which I found very good. I recommend!

Negativ:: The location I found it a bit bad. But the hotel is very new, I think it was just over 1 year old when I stayed in September 2019.

Positiv:: Gemütliches Zimmer mit riesigem Bett. Alles ist per Tablet zu steuern. Saubere und moderne Zimmer. Es gibt eine Dachterrasse im 7. Stock mit Blick auf die Akropolis.

Positiv:: Breakfast lots of variety. Staff were very helpful and welcoming and really helped with destinations we were interested in. The place was close to public transport. Upon arrival you are greeted with smiles and a refreshing drink. The room was very modern and very clean. Highly recommend.

Light switch right above the bed gives you "nice" blue light throughout the night. Location is central, but many side streets have problems with homeless people. Not nice to walk around in the evening and night.

Positiv:: Nach einem katastrophalen Start in Athen aufgrund einer Unterkunft, die wir fluchtartig (trotz sehr guter Bewertung! in unterirdischem Zustand ) wieder verlassen mussten, hat das Golden Age unsere Nacht in Athen gerettet. Das Familienzimmer hat eine tolle Größe. Wir wurden toll empfangen von Superfreundlichem Personal, hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend. TOP! Die Lage ist sehr gut, man ist in 15 - 20 min zu Fuß mitten im Zentrum von Athen. Es gibt einen Zimmerservice zu fairen Preisen und in guter Qualität ! Da wir am nächsten Morgen schon früh abreisen mussten, gab es sogar ein Lunchpaket.

Positiv:: Sehr zentrale Lage, die Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt sind zu Fuss zu erreichen. Hotel ist in einem historischen Gebäude, was im Design der Zimmer übernommen wird. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hat uns gute Tips gegeben.

Negativ:: Eigentlich liegt das Hotel in einer ruhigen Strasse (Fussgängerzone), aber das Restaurant nebenan hat bis morgens um 4 Uhr extrem laute Musik laufen lassen, so dass wir trotz der relative schalldichten Fenstern nur mit Ohrpfropfen schlafen konnten.

Positiv:: Friendly staff, free refreshments on arrival, free mini bar and tea/coffee in the room. Appears to be a new, refurbished hotel, feels fresh and new, but suited to the old building in which it is housed. Lovely decor, particularly the photos showing the Emporikon building a hundred years ago or so. Very comfortable beds and pillows! Great location in Plaka and walking distance from everything worth seeing in Athens from the flee-market to the acropolis to the changing on the guards. Great loukoumades across the street!

Negativ:: The Triple Room we had had a glass walled toilet with strategically placed frosted panes of glass meaning next to no privacy when you're on the toilet! Small step up into the toilet which my husband and I tripped on many times, especially dangerous in the middle of the night. The door to the bathroom also jammed my husbands fingers on many occasions. While the room is advertised as a triple, the third bed was located right next to the glass-walled toilet, a less than desirable sleeping position! A tiny bit noisy at night next to two restaurants, but that's the price you pay for a great location in Athens!

Positiv:: Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind super zu Fuß zu erreichen. Auch die vielen Cafes und Restaurant machen einem möglich, sehr gut zu frühstücken und zu Essen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet.

Negativ:: Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer direkt über dem Lokal unter uns. Die Musik wummerte jeden Abend bis 2:00 Uhr morgens. Gerne auch einmal länger. Obwohl wir um ein ruhiges Zimmer vorab gebeten haben, wurde dies nicht berücksichtigt. Die Klimaanlage ist sehr laut, was bei uns jetzt nicht wirklich ein Problem war, weil ja die Musik noch lauter war. Deshalb würden wir dieses Hotel nicht noch einmal nehmen. Auch die Rezeption war nicht sehr freundlich.

Negativ:: We got the most basic room. It was very small, split level where the bed was on the second mezzanine level. The stairs were quite creaky and decending the stairs without waking your partner was difficult. Perfect room for one rather than two people. Not enough space in the bathroom for toiletries. No view, other than a sparse, dirty and pigeon-filled courtyard. The floor was not well cleaned. We like to walk bare foot inside and there was a lot of sandy, gritty residue on the floor. We came back a couple of days later and stayed in the Triple Room. Definitely worth the extra money. The Triple Room is excellent in terms of space, facilities and view (overlooking the church opposite) (It was spotless in comparison to the basic room as well).

Positiv:: This was a great location. Walking distance to everything. The staff was great and very friendly!! Highly recommend.

Positiv:: Many good restaurants around and easily accessible to Monasiraki, Plaka, and Psirri. Desk staff knew of and recommended many tasty dishes to get at each restaurant. Their input made the food adventure.

Negativ:: The loft room stairs were a little difficult to navigate after some adult beverages.

Positiv:: Nice large room, with separate sitting area and balcony with Acropolis view. Staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for local restaurants and bars. We will recommend to friends and family.

Negativ:: Nothing to report here. No downsides to our stay at all.

Positiv:: The staff are very nice and helpful. They have nice suggestions. Ice when we need it and write down and follow up on all requests. The views from both rooms are great.

Negativ:: They put us in what they said was a suite the first night, but it was just big, hot and awkward with leaky shower, a shade that would not hide those showering... I should have demanded our proper room which we had the other two nights. I would not stay again. Also by not having the name of the hotel on the door it is very hard to find.

Synpathischer und guter Spaservice mit Massagen zu guten Preisen. Autovermietung unweit vom Hotel. Ein Muss um die Insel kennenzulernen!

Negativ:: Frühstück länger als bis 10 Uhr. Badezimmer eher klein mit Badewanne, was nicht mehr zeitgemäss ist. Duschen sind bei Strandferien und auch sonst eigentlich Standart. Sehr auf Deutsches Publikum ausgerichtet.

Positiv:: Location was not really walkable to the Plaka but metro was walkable for us (68 y.o.) and taxis are readily available. Good restaurants are around the corner. Breakfast was very good although buffets like that are busy and not especially relaxing . Concierge was great and they upgraded our room on the last night so that we didn't have to change rooms before our cruise which was departing on the last day of our stay. Great views from our room and an outdoor balcony accompanying our suite.

Negativ:: Thought it was a little pricey although we booked an executive suite because we like the extra space. The executive lounge (free drinks and snacks) was in the main lounge in the lobby which seemed odd and it sometimes seemed like we were being too forward asking for it. Wish is were a separate, quiet space on another floor. Some of the appointments in the room could use a lift (curtains which sagged, nicks in the wood furniture made some of it look worn, etc).

Positiv:: Hatten ein Familienzimmer gebucht und wurden upgegraded. Schon zum zweiten Mal hier gewesen und sehr zufrieden. Pool in Athen angenehm! Nahe zur U-Bahnstation. Frühstück exzellent.

Positiv:: Very nice hotel, close to the center, with free parking. Very nice staff! The room was big and perfecfly clean, with comfortable bed and with a small nice balcony and view to the town.

Negativ:: The neighbourhood is not the nicest, but safe and close to the sights.

Positiv:: Relativ nahe am Zentrum (2km). Anfahrt von der Autobahn verlief Problemlos. Kostenlose Tiefgarage vorhanden. Zimmer war groß, sauber und hatte einen kleinen Balkon. Frühstück sehr lecker und reichhaltig.

Negativ:: Lage in einem "sozialen Brennpunkt". Hatten aber keine Probleme !!! Tiefgarage relative eng, könnte bei großen Autos zu Problemen führen (SUV's)

Positiv:: Sehr freundliches Personal und sehr sauberes Hotel. In 5 Minuten Metro Station erreichbar.
