At best, this is a 1.5 star MotelPositiv: I wasn't murdered during the hour I spent in the parking lot, waiting for someone to show up to check me in.Negativ: There was no one in the "24 hour office" to check me in. I spoke with an employee earlier in the day to let her know I'd be a late arrival, and she said she'd be there. She wasn't. I couldn't check in. still haven't been refunded. Also, the location is downright scary! Stay away.
Clean, Economical with updated facilitiesPositiv: The staff are very courteous, and the rooms were quite clean. The rooms are small, but as prior reviewers have said, it's a budget inn.
It's not 24 hours, so if you are going to be late, do call them to let them know you'll be arriving late.
Upon check-in, we were given a remote with access to Netflix. I did not take any photos of the room, but the room had a full-size bed and tv on the wall. There is a small rack on the left for hanging clothes. The bathroom was tiny; I wouldn't expect someone significantly overweight to be able to use the facilities with any ease.
Countertops are granite. There is a small in-room refrigerator and microwave with ample space to place your food/beverage/extra bags.
It wasn't terribly noisy. We heard some news from people outside, who quieted down after a few minutes, and you can hear a lot of the traffic from the street.
There were only two electrical outlets that I noticed, so if you need more, I'd suggest bringing along a power strip. There are no in-room hair dryers. We were given exactly two washcloths and two towels, so if you need more, you might request them upon check-in. Bring your own conditioner if you need it, as well as a shower cap.
We were asked if we wanted more pillows, which I thought was very considerate of them.
The area isn't the best in town, but I didn't feel unsafe either. It's only 5 miles from the casino and if you're looking to save a little money while visiting the casino, you can't go wrong with the Belvedere.
There's even continental breakfast in the morning, which I wasn't expecting. Coffee, donuts, bagels, orange juice, and cereal were provided.
We stayed for two days, and would certainly come back. Negativ: Room size/bed size; It's a little cramped but given our short stay, it wasn't really an issue.
They're trying hard!Positiv: The staff is very friendly and gracious and willing to do whatever they can in order to fulfill your requests, when they are there. Keep in mind however that this IS an economy facility, so don't expect the world (for instance, there's no towel rack). The neighborhood doesn't look "nice," but don't be intimidated; it isn't dangerous, it's just tired. The restaurant next door serves dinner until 10 pm. It's convenient if you want to be centrally located to Broward and Dade counties, or to the Hard Rock casino.Negativ: There is no 24-hour staff - The Belevedere is a small Inn, not a hotel. Once everyone is checked in and their immediate needs are seen to, you're pretty much on your own. Make sure you're not expecting any more than that. You may be able to reach them for emergencies, but it may be difficult. The number posted on the door may not be answered.
