Positiv:: Sehr freundliches Personal, reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Die Lage perfekt, zentral, direkt am wunderschönen Strand mit dem türkisblauen Meer.

Negativ:: Essen und Trinken war verhältnismässig eher etwas teurer als in den umliegenden Restaurants.

Positiv:: The room was comfortable and spacious the hotel has 3 swimming pools with clean wArm water And the facilities never feel crowded. Breakfast is excellent and as we were on bed and breakfast terms did Not use the main restaurant. Staff were friendly and well trained. The beach facilities were a few yards away with A beach bar loungers and a good lunch time restaurant. I should add that our visit was in October at an earlier Visit in April I found the water not particularly warm. Santa Maria with its shops and restaurants is only a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Negativ:: Can’t find much criticism but you need to be aware that the island is virtually a desert so everything is brought In apart from the excellent fresh fish landed daily at the pier. The island is also very windy

Positiv:: The location was in front of the magical beach of Santa Maria

Negativ:: The beds could be a little more comfortable for the price, and the staff a little more welcoming.

Positiv:: It was a fantastic and perfect family holday with all inclusive service. Sandy beaches, warm weather, delicious foods...friendly staff, fantastic shows at evenings, mini disco for kids. Safety in and outside.

Negativ:: The food is horrible. Plastic, artificial, industrial. I never in my life eat such things how can you serve that in a 5 star hotel?? Same for the drinks. Therefore the “all included” is useless. As for the rest, everything is cheap and low quality.

Positiv:: The hotel is beautiful, clean and well looked after. Prime location on the beach and the staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome. There are many options for food and drinks and it was all lovely! I would definitely stay in this hotel again; it was a great holiday on a gorgeous island and a very relaxing vibe. I would recommend doing the Island Tour and snorkelling trip and booking with Nando (Nando Tours) who stands by the hotel beach bar!

Negativ:: The room is beautiful but the sofa is quite hard and the back cushion sticks out so you don't have much space to sit comfortably. Other than that the hotel was perfect!

Negativ:: Hotel at capacity this February. Not enough sun loungers, nor space for those in place. Queues for drinks as staff overwhelmed by demand. Dining areas very busy and cramped. Food good, but hard to enjoy it in a noisy dining room with constant traffic squeezing past tables.

Positiv:: Toller Strand und Pool. großes Frühstücksbuffet. Freundliches Personal. Sauberkeit.

Negativ:: Überteuerstes Restaurant. Preis-Leistung passt überhaupt nicht. Personal quatscht untereinander sehr gerne (wohl über Privates?) und geht nicht auf die Gäste zu.

Negativ:: Essen entspricht nicht einem 5* Hotel. Im Badezimmer fehlen einige Kleinigkeiten wie Zahnglas, WC Bürsteli, Handseifenschale... Ab 22:50Uhr konnte man nicht einmal mehr etwas zu trinken bestellen oder auf Zimmer mitnehmen obwohl die Öffnungszeit bis 23:30 Uhr angeschrieben ist.

Negativ:: The lack of professionalism of the employees. We had to complain several times about a water problem in our bathroom. Indeed the water was yellow, which is inadmissible in a Hilton. After our complaints they finally decided to change our room, but this was the disaster in a week we changed room four times. And the 4 rooms had this yellow water problem.

Negativ:: Mussten Zimmer wechseln

Positiv:: Breakfast was great and the receptionist Yannik was the best! Nice garden.

Negativ:: The sunbeds at the beach are old and broken and the lounger pillows need to be replaced. Everything is a bit outwarn. The majority of the stuff wasn’t very friendly. You didn’t even get a smile. Our room was a bit tiny for three people and the free drinking water in the room tasted like Chlorine. The octopus salat at the Bounty Bar was definitely not a salad. The price performance ratio is bad (we didn’t have all inclusive). We would have expected more from the Hilton.

Positiv:: The hotel is really nice. The rooms are big, well maintained, providing all the necessary amenities. The pool is nice, the beach as well. The city center is about 20 min walk or you can take a cab for 3€ per one way. The breakfast is really good, you can find any choice you like.

Negativ:: The Restaurant Services at the Beach Restaurant need to be checked i sat for 30 minutes waiting for my meal and left . I dint find the waiters attending to me that was not pleasant

Negativ:: Charged hotel tax at the end when I had already paid them just after I got there and said is that it am I straight now and they said yes just to find we had 4 euro per day to find for hotel tax they said everyone has to pay it i said why was I not told when I paid them mid week no answer and was charged 30 euro .also my room was supposed to be ready for 3pm but was not ready so they gave us a room to stay in while 6pm when ours was ready not good someone was in our room that's why.

Positiv:: we did enjoy everything, atmosphere, comfort, staff, beach and the awasome cocktail of the bar Allison is a master. plus the position is just spot on, walking distance to some cosy and good restaurant as well to the center town, we highly recommend.

Positiv:: Amazing location and excellent staff. Everybody is very polite and helpful. I loved the swimming pool, the beach bar and the hotel restaurant. The bedrooms are spacious and have a little terrace.

Positiv:: In Cape Verde this is probably the upper end of middle re what’s available hotel wise (comparing on a more global basis Id say it’s more at the lower end of middle). Great beach location, pool area looked nice enough (though never used it as was at beach all day). Rooms fine, clean, no frills. Food ok, in the context of comments above.

Negativ:: Having to pay for wifi and use of the valuables safe in room seemed a bit tight. Slightly perched at the edge of town.

Positiv:: Animation staff, their shows and activities. Hotel location off the beach and close to the village.

Negativ:: Construction works during our stay not pleasant when you are on vacations, guests should be warned of works during the reservation. The hotel ran out of water supply one day (probably caused by the works). An overall hotel renovation is advisable (rooms, swimming pools area, etc.). The meals room have too much noise, improvement recommended. Please, add more fresh fish and fresh fruit to the meals. Expensive internet rates.

Positiv:: Comfortable bed. We got 'welcome' wine (without being able to open it- no opener in a room

Negativ:: Cleaning lady woke us up almost every morning (even if i asked not to disturb). Food overcooked. Noise - we lived with a street view even if i asked different (hotel was full only 30%). Ripping off for internet - 25 euro per week. However we used only 2 full days.

Positiv:: Good location. Very very nice staff. 3 pools, enough for everyone, never too crowded. Enough beds on the beach.

Negativ:: First we stayed in a Superior Bungalow: its like a wood container, too much basic and with un awful shower (see pictures). And of course, you can hear everything from outside and your neighbors next door... We spoke with the receptionist that kindly moved us too another room, this time much better. But the price payed for the bungalows it's outrageous!!! It was everything fine until suddenly we started to see lots of cockroaches outside and when we came for dinner surprise! We had them in the room too! Next day same thing. Always asking for spray to kiil them. The staff was always super friendly and comprehensive but it's simply not acceptable that a kind of hotel like this has cockroaches!!! Also the food... Lot of variety but we would prefer less variety and a little bit of quality. Little variety of fruit, not even a natural juice! Honestly, not worth the money!!!!

Negativ:: Facilities apart from room pretty dire whole apartment blocks locked down, one very small facility for breakfast about 20 tables catering for over 500 and full of people with no manners ! Reminiscent of Eastern European apartment blocks of 20 years ago. No internet, no mobile Connexxion, no stress? Lots !!

Positiv:: Very nicely designed hotel complex. Everything we needed, was near - shop, restoran etc. We had nice walk to bikini beach. It was good to have access to pool. We liked to have apartment, cookwear were included.

Negativ:: As other write, it was like chostdown. We saw people only in the morning, when was breakfast time. Also there was no dishwashing soap in room, maybe thats why were some dirty dishes in kitchen cabinet.

Positiv:: Comfortable bed. Kettle in room. Very helpful, polite staff on reception at night and in the morning

Negativ:: No reply when I emailed to ask if they could organize a taxi to collect us from the airport as we arrived at 1am.As it turned out, there were plenty of taxis at the airport then so no problem, thankfully

Positiv:: Free shuttle to Santa Maria; ability to cook food yourself; grocery store in the village

Negativ:: Too long distance to the see, noisy neighbours, poor quality restsurants

Positiv:: Swimming pool, and nothing else.

Negativ:: The location is very very bad, the property is in meddle of nowhere, there is nothing to do at night time, no shops around, internet or WIFi doesn’t work at all in the room, people have to in balcony at later night if they need to you their mobile or any other device.

Negativ:: Dreckige Küche, Ameisen in der ganzen Wohnung, zwei Kakerlaken, unfreundliches-unmotiviertes Personal...

Negativ:: Industrial/processed food for breakfast... not even fresh fruit but canned and sweetened fruit. How is this possible?!! Poor coffee. Wifi on extra cost. Once again how is this possible?! I would rather pay a few more euros than having to pay these additional hidden costs. I trust that low cost airline - not to name some here - is not the model followed by this hotel...

Positiv:: It's cheaper compared to many other options on this island. There was a lot of space inside the flat and it was good to have a fridge to store food and drinks.

Negativ:: The staff are a bit unresponsive, I tried contacting them before arriving by sending them e-mails but they didn't respond. I had to find another way of contacting them and so I did. Some things inside the flat were broken but I think it was OK. Not in excellent condition but OK. I think it's best to keep in mind that you don't have a lot of options in terms of restaurants and cafés if you are staying in Vila Verde. Some people recommended me to go to Santa Maria and look for good restaurants with good food.

Negativ:: I had booked in to th hotel for 4 nights, but had to leave after first night and return back to the uk due to an immediate family member taking ill. The hotel would not refund the 3 nights even under those unforeseen circumstances. Find it very poor of the hotel to treat a customer like this. Couldn’t get a flight back to Manchester, so ended get a flight to Gatwick airport which was a late arrival back into the uk, so I had to pay more money for a hotel, then had to get four trains back to Manchester airport to collect my car from the airport, all this cost was never forswen to me. I explained to the hotel what I had to do to get back home early, and the cost implications, yet they still wouldn’t be compassionate and refund the 3 nights!

Negativ:: Das Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber, die Tür, durch welche man sehen und hören konnte wer durch den Flur geht und ein Frühstück das wirklich nicht überzeugt hat dass es ein 4 Sternehotel sein könnte...

Negativ:: Feuchtigkeisgeruch im Zimmer Sehr laute Minibar (Kühlaggregat) Lage Baustellen um das Hotel Frühstücksbuffet entspricht 2-Sterne Hoel

Positiv:: Wir hatten die Master Suite, die wunderschön war. Großflächig, stimmiges Design und sehr sauber. Das Restaurant bot sehr gutes Essen zu angemessenen Preisen. Das Frühstück war prima, allerdings wurde das Küchenpersonal nicht so richtig Herr über die hungrige Meute, die Platten waren immer schnell leer und es dauerte länger, bis sie wieder nachgelegt waren. Der Strand war schnell erreichbar und sehr schön. Tauchbasis im Haus. Obwohl das Hotel an der Straße liegt, ist es sehr ruhig.

Negativ:: Wir hatten extra im Vorfeld der Reise einen Flughafentransfer mit dem Hotel abgesprochen, allerdings holte uns niemand ab. Als wir im Hotel ankamen und dies anmerkten, gab es leider keine Entschuldigung. Der Weg nach Santa Maria beträgt ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß.

Positiv:: Etwas ältere Anlage, sehr gutes Frühstück mit Abwechslung, Personal sehr hilfbereit, gutes Essen, wenn man im Hotel bleiben möchte.

Positiv:: Good position 2 minutes walk from the beach and 10 minutes from the center. The structure is new and the rooms quite big.

Negativ:: Even if we booked the full board we had to pay for water and drinks and everything to eat outside lunch and dinner. The cleanings were not that good. Poor breakfast quality and variety

Positiv:: Relaxing with girlfriend at swimming pool with beautiful garden. 1minute walk from Nautical Center at the beach. To Santa Maria 2€taxi/walk 20mins by the beach

Negativ:: I am Island hopping and this location is perfect for sports, if you don’t have the time though I’d recommend to go straight to Sao Vicente

Positiv:: Kleines, ruhiges und sauberes Hotel. Sehr nettes Personal. 3Minuten zum Strand, 10 Minuten zum Centrum.

Negativ:: Price.....Ground floor room 119 very noisy, breakfast a weak offer.

Positiv:: Rooms OK. Good location, near city center and beach. Helpfull staff. At the end of our stay, they even provide us with a room to take shower and to change clothes before the flight for free. Good breakfast and good dinner. Would definitely come again.

Negativ:: Paid my bill Including accommodation and extras (drinks). But when returned home I looked on my bank statement and had been charged an extra £47 for something? Have asked hotel to supply a invoice for the reason but no response as yet, very disappointed took the edge off our lovely holiday.

Positiv:: Great great hotel , the staff was very nice and really made us feel like we were home . the breakfast was perfectly ok for a 3 star place. the rooms were clean and very confortable . the location is great also 5 min walking to the beach. i will be back for sure.

Positiv:: - zentrale Lage, fußläufig zu Geschäften, Restaurants und Bars - schöner Innenhof mit Swimmingpool - großes Zimmer

Negativ:: Unser Zimmer lag zur Straße und direkt an einer Mini-Bus-Sammelstelle. Dazu gegenüber von einer Diskothek (Pirata) und direkt an einem Kreisverkehr. Permanent, auch die ganze Nacht, bremsender und abfahrender Autolärm. Schätzungsweise 40-50% der Hotelzimmer haben diese Lage und da das Hotel sehr gut ausgelastet war, gab es auch keine Wechselmöglichkeit. Obwohl wir die Fenster permanent geschlossen hielten, machte das wirklich keinen Unterschied. Denn es handelte sich nur um einfachste Fensterverglasung, die nichts dämmen konnte. Dazu war die Balkontür nicht abzuschließen. Da unser Zimmer in der ersten Etage lag, machten wir uns doch Sorgen wg. eines Einstiegs. Auch nachdem ich das Problem der Rezeption gemeldet hatte, ließ sich kein Haustechniker sehen und es passierte auch in den nächsten Tagen nichts. Obwohl es eine Bar am Swimmingpool und auch auf der Dachterrasse gab und das Hotel immer ausgebucht war, gab machte kein der Bars auf. Es wurde nichts angeboten. Es gab auch keinen Service am Pool. Wollte man ein Getränk haben, musste man nach drinnen an die Hausbar gehen, die tagsüber besetzt war. Das Frühstücksangebot war sehr dürftig und Tag für Tag dasselbe.

Negativ:: Fernsehen schlecht nur Schnee französisch Programm nur Schnee keine deutsche Programm nur 2 Programme die ok war Frühstück immer das gleiche nach 2 Wochen, es fehlte Kaffee Löffel unglaublich Mann müsste Suppen Löffel nehmen, sonst alles ok

Negativ:: The beds are a bit uncomfortable and there is not enough light in the room.

Positiv:: We liked everything, the room was lovely and not expensive at all compared to what we have witnessed there. The staff were all nice from the reception to the restaurant. The breakfast is not epic but fine and enough. Also the location is the best you can have on the island for this price.

Negativ:: We mostly liked everything, we have nothing to complain about

Positiv:: The staff were very nice. The rooms spacious, and cleaned every day. The pool and jacuzzi were great! Breakfast was good and plenty of selection.

Negativ:: Beds were hard and we had an issue with room key which was resolved by getting a pair of extra keys. One of the nights some guests were very loud and drunk which woke up possibly the whole hotel in the middle of the night. Not sure if the staff did anything or if they could however it is very annoying to be woken up by shouting and slamming which lasted for over an hour. Apart from this incident the hotel was peaceful and relaxing.

Positiv:: This is a really good option if you want to be right by the beach but don't want to be in an all inclusive resort. The beach is literally just 2-3 minutes walk and the shops, bars, and restaurants are all down the road. The breakfast is nice too and I had to check in and out after midnight and the staff were very accommodating.

Negativ:: Wifi only works in the common area, but it's a pretty comfortable place to sit and spend time.

Negativ:: Poor breakfast, noisy as taxi drivers playing music and talking loud, extremely bad bed! Woke up with back pain...

Positiv:: The property was located in the centre of Santa Maria. They cleaned the room and we had clean towels every day. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

Positiv:: Loved the breakfast and the service from Anna was great. Went down for breakfast every morning at 9am everything was available and didn't run out of anything, Cereals, eggs however you wanted them endless bread for toast and fresh fruit. The cleaning staff were all great and when I returned to my room everyday it was spotless and just like when I moved in.

Positiv:: Location was great, 3 minute walk from the beach and from the main road and restaurants. Also room very clean and nice staff.

Positiv:: Das Personal war sehr freundlich, konnten perfekt Englisch, Deutsch war auch möglich. Gepäck konnte man den ganzen Tag über kostenlos abstellen. Die Zimmer waren sehr groß und auch der Balkon traumhaft! Die Aussicht sehr schön und der Weg bis zum Meer waren weniger als 200 m.

Positiv:: Hotel with a good location, right on the main street with restaurants and bars. Really close to the pier and beaches in Santa Maria. The breakfast was nice with optional omelettes and scrambled eggs. Friendly and helpful staff i the reception and resataurant.

Negativ:: The Wifi was only located in lounge area, not in the rooms. The breakfast was ok with nice staff but it was a bit crowded and often lacked refilles. The cleaning is the area that could improved the most, they often forgot to take out the trash and the sand on the balcony.

Positiv:: the space of the room, which actually is a suite

Positiv:: The hospitality, location, the style of rooms, shower pressure, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast were excellent value for money. The boss even let me have a late check out for no extra cost because I had a late flight. Also they were very knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommended!

Negativ:: The toilette was full of flying bugs.. No shampoo, soap or shower-gel provided in the bathroom and only a shower towel was provided...

Positiv:: Super helpful and nice staff, good location everything was great! Went there mostly to kitesurf. For my amazement there was a room dedicated for gear drying and storage.

Negativ:: My rooms fridge worked so well that sometimes I had two beers instead of one and it delayed me going out.

Positiv:: I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Central, with special commendation going to the concierge team who were all very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in recommending bars, restaurants, beaches and ordering taxis when required.

Positiv:: Lovely Hotel, lovely pool, gardens etc. This was in a fantastic location right on the beach front. Near the bars and restaurants in Santa Maria. Staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Lovely room, basic but clean. Ron, Barbara and her husband looked after us very well. Highly recommend. Santa Maria and the people are very friendly. We will be going back ❤️

Positiv:: Unterkunft ist ist einer Appartmentanlage mit Einzeleigentümern. Meerblick ist eingeschränkt (entweder entsprechende Körperlänge oder Hocker) gegeben. Unterkunft war ansonsten vollkommen in Ordnung und auch die Lage direkt am Strand ok. Eigentümer hat sich ebenfalls bemüht.

Negativ:: Mehrfach hat der örtliche Beauftragte die Wohnung unangemeldet betreten, obwohl wir uns in der Wohnung befunden haben. Beim ersten Mal haben wir noch seiner Aussage getraut , dass wir das klingeln nicht gehört hätten. Beim zweiten Mal haben wir uns quasi unter der Klingel aufgehalten ...! Und das war nicht das letzte Mal. EIN Mehrfaches ABSOLUTES NO-GO!

Positiv:: Direkte Strandlage, gute Poolsituation, Abholung vom Flughafen, ruhige Lage und trotzdem gute Ortsanbindung. Viele Lokale in der Nähe. Excellente Strandspaziergänge möglich.

Negativ:: In der Beschreibung auf Booking.com bleibt etwas unklar, wie gut (oder schlecht) der Balkon und der Meer- bzw. Poolblick ist. Hier fühlten wir uns nicht ganz korrekt vorinformiert.

Positiv:: Zweckmässig eingerichtetes Appartement - es hat alles zum selber kochen, wenn man Lust dazu hat - viele gute Essgelegenheiten innerhalb von 5 Minuten.

Negativ:: Am Pool hat es keine Abfallkörbe - nur für Zigaretten.

Positiv:: The property was fantasic. Great size for two of us and fantasic balcony view. The location was perfect. Highly recommend. The host Ron was brilliant we kept in touch throughout the booking process and also when we were looking for information on the area while we were there. He always returned my emails very fast. The guys that worked for Ron were also fantastic great help when we were in cape verde. We had a brilliant holiday.

Negativ:: No microwave

Negativ:: I would have been nicer to have an area to sit out. The balcony area was not very comfortable due to high wall to sit on bar stools. Having said that at least there was something but the view wasn't very good at all.

Negativ:: Wir mussten um 1/2 4 nachts mehr als eine 30 Minuten auf die Schlüsselübergabe für das Appartement 63 warten. Der anwesende Nachtwächter konnte nur kreolisch. Unser Flug hatte 2 h Verspätung. Wir haben aber unsere Flugnummer angegeben ,sodass man die Verspätung checken hätte können. Leider ist der Blick vom Balkon teilweise durch eine hässliche Bauruine getrübt.

Positiv:: Good location, close to everything. Good size, nice pool on roof.

Negativ:: Very noisy next to club that didnt quieten down till 5am. Bed uncomfortable & very squeaky. Sofa broken, no hot water!

Positiv:: I really liked the pool on the roof, and the view from there!

Negativ:: Internet worked poorly.

Positiv:: The pool is nice. It is very close to the beach.

Negativ:: I found a lot of cockroaches in the room. The wifi only works outside the room, so it's like not having the service. At night it's very noisy, and some clients would listen to very loud music very early in the morning.

Positiv:: Wunderbares, komplett ausgestattetes Appartment. Super Lage. Gute Betten. Sauber. Perfekt.

Positiv:: Very central , close to the vibrant action in Santa Maria, fabulous view from the top floor & great to have the use of the pool , spacious, clean & good facilities in apartment

Negativ:: Some nights were noisy due to the fact the appartement is directly behind a local nightclub Kalema , but didn’t disturb my sleep

Positiv:: Nothing

Negativ:: We left the property after 2 nights as it was simply impossible to stay, there is a club there that closes at 6am and people around the building are screaming all night long. The owner was suppose to refund the remaining days and still hasn’t done it a month later and after many notifications. We’re now reporting the place.
