Negativ: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"

I’m not sure how they handle the passengers with mobility issues. First time flying with a European airline and I was told the service was better not on this flight."

It happened to me, in spite of the wifi connection at the airport. Some airlines would put up an electronic notification for the change at previously known Gate. It's also possible to miss Airport voice messages due to temporary impairments travellers suffer from the previous flight. You can call out a passenger for all you want and still miss passing out the message."

Negativ: "The seat I had with no seats in front of me was very small. Much smaller than the other economy seats because the tray table and video screen were in the armrests. Paid extra for the legroom by ended up losing it side to side. Really had to squeeze into the seat."

Or at least the food I brought, a sandwich was not allowed because of customs. I can't eat the food that was offered. I'm glutten intolerant and dairy involerant. Not sure there's a whole lot to do about it besides buy prepackaged food that don't have meat, vegtabjes or fruit. Protien bars may have worked. We brought two bottles of water each from the terminal. I could have used more, even with the drink service. The flight attendants we're having thier own personal conversation while passing out food and ran by when it came to the final trash clean up. When I got up to use the facilities I tried throwing my trash away but was ignored by a crew member while she was resting."

Das Abfluggate des Anschlussfluges wurde ca. 3 Stunden vor Abflug bekanntgegeben. Aber aufgrund einer verschlosssen Glastür konnte man erst 25 Minuten (!!!) vor Abflug dort hin gehen. Es kam zu einem großen Stau vor der Tür und der Abflug verspätete sich entsprechend."

Negativ: "Supposed to leave Boston at 9:30 pm, instead 1:30 am. It was said they knew this the day before and sent emails to passengers. No one who I spoke to, including myself, got one. Aer Lingus hired another carrier to do this flight—plane, crew —no Aer Lingus personnel. Everyone was nice, but. Had made arrangement for early morning checkin. Got to the hotel SO late that they waved a fee and had our room ready. Was going to sightsee the first afternoon—basically lost a day of seeing Dublin."

The cabin wait staff is ill trained for customer service. They seemed to only have requirements to check off on a list. We will likely make every attempt to not fly your airlines again."

I almost gave up on watching a movie until I pulled out my iPhone headphones and realized that I could finally hear the dialogue over the roar of the plane."

Positiv: "Even if Aer LIngus is considered a low cost, I felt it was everything but that. The plane looked new, the board computers were modern and had the latest movies, there were charging docks for phones and even internet. We got to Orlando 30 minutes ahead of schedule, which was great!"

Negativ: "My original flights from Dublin to London and London to Munich were cancelled. The booking agency Webjet did not inform me about the cancellation. I noticed changes to my schedule three days before the flight and requested a rebooking. The entire leg to Munich was rebooked by Webjet but again I had to call and ask for an update since they don't issue a second round of confirmation emails."

Finally, the attitude at large was dismissive, the idea of customer service is clearly not one Aer Lingus has embraced."

Negativ: "Leider waren wir aufgrund des verspäteten Flughafenbuses 'erst' 1 Stunde vor Abflug am Flughafen. Obwohl wir nur mit Hangepäck unterwegs und bereits online eingecheckt waren, war es uns nicht mehr möglich beim Self-checkin die Boardingkarte auszudrucken. Boardingkarte am Handy, wie bei sehr vielen Linien bereits Standard, gab es nicht. Auf die Frage was zu tun sei, verwies man uns auf die lange Schlange bei der Gepäckaufgabe und teilte uns mit, dass es knapp werden würde den Flug zu erreichen... Erst die 3. sehr freundliche Angestellte schickte uns zum Express Check-in und wir waren 25 Minuten vor Abflug beim Boarding. Das hätte man uns auch leichter machen können..."

Positiv: "Über die eingetretene Verzögerung wurde etwas spät, aber immerhin ausreichend informiert. In der Luft konnte ein Teil der Zeit wieder gut gemacht werden."
