kein eigener Hotelparkplatz, extrem kleine Zimmer
Best Place in Reykjavik for the money!
Check-in was easy. We arrived several hours before check-in, and they held our bags while we went exploring. Upon check-in, everything was great. The room was pleasant, the bed quite comfortable, the blinds thick so we didn't have to worry about the sun waking us up (as if we'd ever not be up before the sun in Iceland), and the room was kept at a perfect temperature - with a window to open up if we wanted more fresh air. It is centrally located, and even more reasonably priced when you compare it with the cost of other hotels in the area. This is not a luxury place, but for people traveling cheap and easy, who just need a place to rest their head after full days of walking and drinking, it's the perfect spot. Any time we had a question, we just came by reception (it's not constantly staffed, but there's a bell to ring, which is answered swiftly), and were easily and happily assisted. Check-out was simply a matter of leaving the key at reception. Easy, and no frills. Love the place, and will absolutely stay there if we go back.
They are listed as having complimentary breakfast on the booking sites, but they do charge for it (though they tell you that when you ask); for the cost, just pay a little extra and go to one of the well-loved breakfast spots in town. Worth it - who wants to spend their trip eating at the hotel breakfast, anyway? The one day we changed our door hanger to "Yes, please have housekeeping visit my room," we came back to find our bed had been straightened and trash had been thrown out, but we had no more toilet paper (we'd been running low) and no new towels. It was easily rectified the next morning by asking for those to be brought to our rooms, but if you definitely need specifics, it's better to let reception know, than to assume they'll handle it. Also, due to all of the scaffolding in front of the hotel, if there is any signage, it isn't visible; because of this, make sure your maps are accurate and specific! Actually, because much of Reykjavik has scaffolding and construction, always trust your maps, rather than looking for signage, because same may be blocked!
Location and value
Rooms are quite small and sparsly furnished
a very helpful receptionist: Faruk
the small size of the room, cleanliness, no toilet paper, leaking toilet, no fan in the bathroom which made the whole room steamy and smell of sulfur.
The location is very good it´s in the heart of Reykjavik adn no need to take taxi to go the night life.
Yes - it was one thing that i didn´t knew... that was about i booked via booking.com and i used my Visa card to pay via internet... But when i came to the hotel - the manager wanted to have my visa again and said that i haven´t paid for the hotel when i booked at booking.com - that was only insurance he said...
Friendly, helpful staff and central location.
Breakfast was good, hotel was quiet
I did not think the bedsheets were very clean - I was a little worried the room might have bedbugs. I think the rooms should be kept cleaner
very friendly staff and simple & cozy room
