Awful, do not usePositiv: NothingNegativ: Truly an awful experience. Called for the shuttle, walked to the "glass wall" only to see the shuttle fly by 10 min later. Called again, guy came back, flagged him down and told we were in the wrong spot. Finally got to the rental location - didn't have the car I rented. Instead got a smaller one that was absolutely filthy, no gas in it and windshield wipers that didn't work. Did receive a $50 refund but need to keep following up to ensure it gets refunded. Just an awful experience. Stay away from using this company
Ace RentalPositiv: The price was right for an economy Mazda. We did get a ride to the airport when we dropped the car off. Drop off was at night, so the keys were put in a drop box, very easy.Negativ: Ace is not in the airport, they are located in a hotel lobby across the highway from the airport. When we landed, no one was at the desk to pick us up to get the car. We had to walk to the hotel and had to wait for the rep to show up.
Negativ: It was 14 degrees outside and the shuttle didn't show up and they didn't answer the phone.
Positiv: Wound up with a Chrysler 200, which was a little nicer than expected.Negativ: No satellite radio, which I thought was standard in rentals. Also, I foolishly opted for the insurance online. They wound up charging me for 5 days insurance on a 4 day rental. Lastly There is no sign for Ace rental on the hotel where I picked up the car, it was actually Corporate Rental.
Negativ: When we got to the airport around 8p we tried to call the company and got a guy's outgoing cell phone voicemail with the name of a different company that had something to do with car renting. They had no shuttles and no one at the airport had heard of the company. We ended up just renting from another company because their Yelp! page said they were closed. Doesn't seem like a full service operation or a viable option for car rental in Buffalo.

To add to my frustration, the attendant did not seem to care about the problems of any of the customers.

The vehicle was in great condition and functioned flawlessly.Negativ: The interior design of the Chrysler Pacifica made the trip from Buffalo, NY to Florida terribly uncomfortable. Specifically, the front headrest is situated so far forward of the seat back, that head tilted forward so far that my chin was tucked into my chest.

As standard practice, I thoroughly review my receipts to ensure there aren't any excess charges. The woman was clearly frustrated that I was taking a moment to look over the contract.
Also, when I was offered the gasoline, I was give a per gallon price with no mention that I'd have to refill the entire tank. I realized this after looking over the receipt the first time. Finally, the woman was quite pushy about the insurance. I attempted to look up whether or not my policy covered rental cars and instead of waiting for an answer, the woman decided to very rudely tell me she was just going to leave it off. I opted to purchase the basic insurance just to make sure I was covered. Guess what? I didn't need it after all. I will not be returning to this rental supplier.

Great experience overallPositiv: We had a 2017 vehicle waiting for us when we landed. Super quick check in and very easy. Car was clean and ready. Only issue was a slow leak in the back tire that we had to keep filling while we had the vehicle. Negativ: The light indicating low pressure was on as soon as I got in the vehicle but I didn't see it until I drove off or I would have turned back and asked for them to fix the tire. Somebody should have seen that before we took the car
Positiv: The staff were excellent at the Buffalo Airport. I liked the media features for the car. Negativ: The car felt like it had a lawnmower engine in it. It was better than some of the rentals I have gotten previously, but it struggled on hills and inclines bigly.

Just a great experience!Positiv: Hello, after a bad flight experience and going through the canceled flight experience with United, the rental car experience was a true experience of how old school customer service showed its face. I found out my car rental was booked in downtown and not the airport. Debbie listened to me and quickly called to get approval from her manager to pick up the reservation at the airport. She was awesome!! Give this woman a big promotion and raise!!

BUF- car rental Positiv: The car drove nicely and the size accommodated what we needed to bring back to Buffalo. Negativ: The car was not cleaned when we arrived- food packages in the seats, filthy windshield, once we got it home and had a chance to look it over. We had to wait over 30 minutes in order to pick up the car making my arrival to work delayed. You receive texts, emails, reminders about the pending pickup up, yet it seemed like they were unprepared for the booming.
The overall booming was not also communicated that through your website no changes could be made since it was a special Hotwire deal etc. This was very frustrating for the money we spent. Next time I may just book through actual car rental place to ensure changes, cleanliness, and customer service to be quicker upon arrival.

Didnt get your money's worthPositiv: I booked a car on line and i wanted a five seater. The car that came up was listed as holding five people. I was skeptical. I called Budget and they assured me 3 adult men could sit the back seat and two adults could sit in the front. In actuality two adults could sit in the front and two in the back. The third person had to sit on the laps of the other two people in the back seat. Also it was five degrees in Buffalo and the windows needed to be scraped every morning. No scraper was provided. We bought one. We rented the car for 38 hours 4:30 pm tuesday until 6:30 am in thursday. The cost was just under $300.00 thats outrageous. Price gouging during Christmas. We have rented cars at the Buffalo airport several times before for much less. So much for your Christmas spirit.Negativ: The kn,y oostive thing was the car was clean.
Fillthy CarNegativ: Car’s seats were stained. Backs of seats had smudge marks from feet. Carpets were filthy. Windows were dirty. The car should have never been sent out. When I complained, the return agent said, I’ll tell the manager. That’s not sufficient!

Didn't like the carPositiv: The size of the vehicle and a start botton, that's pretty cool. Negativ: I got caught in a rain twice ( on the way to Kentucky and back) and windshield wipers were just horrible and not even fast enough. Also traction control was not good during the rain, not sure if was the tire issue.

It was terrible! Enterprise did not have a car for me. Positiv: Absolutely Nothing!!!!! Negativ: Enterprise did not have a car for me when I arrived. They said it would take over an hour to get a car transferred from another location....and then told me the price would double, since they would have to bring a car from another location...and the prices were different at the other location. I was so upset, I walked out and got a taxi. The Enterprise rep told me I should never rent s. At from a third party site like Kayak....because often times Enterprise can really honor that price. I'm so upset at Kayak and Enterprise!!

Negativ: When we rented, it said Buffalo airport. When we got there, they said the rental place is a 1/2 hour away. They didn't help us at all. The rental contract said, "shuttle" from the airport. Very disappointed in the Buffalo Enterprise. Very sad couple of young men that didn't even stand up or help us.

Disappointed in Kayak and Enterprise Negativ: I booked online and booked a one way. Pick up Buffalo, drop off Syracuse, NY. The agent at the airport informed me my rental was for their downtown location. I spent $35 for a taxi ride to get my vehicle. I was never given an option to choose a location. Once there I was asked if I wanted to upgrade for a couple of dollars more per day for a Tahoe. Since a nor'easter was coming I agreed. I had to wait a while while they cleaned the vehicle but was told to bring it back empty on fuel to make up for my wait. Once driving with the heat on I smelled a strong nasty odor that never went away for the whole rental. The snow was combining down hard within a few hours and I was looking to put it in all wheel drive only to find out it was a two wheel drive Tahoe. I had reserved a smaller class SUV 4wheel drive to begin with. This vehicle was not good for traction in the inclement weather I was involved in. The icing on the cake was when I got to Syracuse and called to find out what time the airport location opened, I was told that my return was for another location and I would be charged $25 to drop at the airport. I'm very disappointed in Kayak not making clear pick up and drop off locations and on the vehicle I received.
Don't believe the price quotedPositiv: Nice new car, friendly service, easy in general.Negativ: The price quoted was very different to the final price we paid. I know this was down to the insurance but really, when will someone start giving a full price quote including collision damage waiver etc - a quote that anyone would pay rather than these low quotes that then get totally inflated by around 40% of the original quote. It is misleading and very disappointing to always have to pay so much more when it comes down to the nitty gritty.

When I called to request a complimentary pick up from my hotel, they said they would send someone and they didn't. I waited 30 minutes until I called again, the next person on the phone said there was no record of anyone being sent. I ended up taking a hotel shuttle to pick up my car. Customer service was very poor at this location.
More feesPositiv: When searching on Kayak, I thought I had a great deal. $139.00 for the rental. Negativ: When I came out of the dealer I had so many fees and taxes, it came to $223. Way more. Hertz ripped me off.

Hertz stiffed me!!!!Positiv: Nothing. They told me they have me on a “do not rent” list. Why? Upon calling their “do not rent” center personnel, I was informed that their records reflect that I have an outstanding bill for the period from 10/28/2016 to 11/04/2016 for a car rental in Italy. I was in Italy last year. However: 1.) the period of time I had a Hertz car rental was from 10/20/2016 to 11/04/2016 and 2.) the rental was part of an all inclusive package purchase for me by my travel agency. Furthermore, this is the first I have learned of this problem.
I have never been a fan of Hertz. After I was turned away I went to my preferred company, Enterprise and was treated well. It did cost me more than the vehicle I had reserved through Hertz, so as far as I am concerned, Hertz owes me money for the cost difference which I will request in the process of getting them to correct their Re Ross about the 2016 rental

THEN the Hertz rep added "options" on to my rental without informing me there would be extra fees! Hertz Customer Service would only credit me back HALF of the charges I never agreed to. Unacceptable! Will never rent from them again!
Debit card confusionNegativ: The person serving at the airport counter was not very helpful. Kayak had accepted payment on a debit card but he said that Hertz didn't accept debit cards. As Kayak had already deducted the money from my account I stood my ground and Hertz agreed to let me have the car with a credit card for security. This needs to be sorted out between Hertz and Kayak. The car was generally in good condition and we had no problems with it; however, the windscreen wipers were badly worn which made visibility poor when it rained.
