AVIS hours and policy for extention BAD Positiv: Car was fine, person at desk was nice Negativ: Trying to return the car 2 hours later and it wasn't possible, was charged 130$ more because the rental office isn't open past certain hours on Sunday night. Compared to Enterprise, where you can return anytime even during closed hours, this was a shock and cost me twice as much for my rental in the end. Very disappointed with AVIS for this reason and will never use them again.
Couldn't rent a carNegativ: The man working he counter was not helpful. I went to pay and he verbally declined my debit card. I proceeded to tell him that I've done his numerous times there's a hold on the card that gets out on while renting then refunded after it's returned. He told me my credit was too low after trying to swipe the card as a credit card. It was by far the worst experience renting. I went to enterprise and had an amazing experience. I was way behind getting to see my mom and family for her surprise 60th birthday party. I was close to not making it!
Negativ: Overcharged. First four days would have been$45 per day but when we added a fifth which was $100, they charged us $100 for every day

Negativ: There were four main problems with the rental-
1. The rear brake light was out
2. The radio was broken
3. There was garbage strewn about the car and it was obvious that it was not cleaned since the last rental
4. I was charged 90 dollars more than my contract stated and the manager in the store was unable to correct the charge see
No guarantee they'll have your vehicle, Positiv: The DM got us a vehicle.Negativ: Family packed and ready to go. First long trip with an infant. Dad just has to get the van. There is no van. Six hours later...
Terrible servicePositiv: Had to wait over an hour in line and did not have requested vehicle class available.
Not staffed properlyNegativ: The place had an incredibly long line With only one man staffing the counter during a holiday weekend.
Positiv: car ran great, no administrative problems.
Positiv: The car was ready for pick up at the time I requested and there was not a long wait to process.
The care was in mostly good condition, with a small scratch on the back from a previous renter.
Drove well and convenient for this weekend trip.Negativ: Drop off was fairly unorganized. There were several cars being dropped off and it was not clear where to go. When I went to return the paperwork, there were a ton of people waiting to pick up cars and it wasn't clear if we had to wait to process our forms too.
After about 20 minutes of waiting, the lady at the desk told us we could leave the paperwork, which could have saved the time waiting in line.
Positiv: Good customer service and easy in and out.Negativ: The car seats on the inside were dirty.
Slowest rental location everNegativ: Staff at this location were very slow and unorganized. No one answered the phone.
Negativ: Had to go to a differnet rental car company--the pickup location was a distaster with tons of people waiting a very long time. Worst location/service.

Price changedPositiv: Due to flight issues, we missed our pickup. When we called true next day, they said it would be $1200 more to rent it for one less day. We rented another vehicle through hertz.

Horrendous Overall ExperiencePositiv: Car was clean with the exception of one bag of chips that was still in there from the previous renterNegativ: Horrible customer experience. Waited 2.5 hours for my car and did not get the car I rented. Also, I asked to prepay for the gas, but was charged over $9/gallon upon my return. When speaking with customer service they explained that they couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't on my contract (admittedly my mistake for only skimming my contract after waiting there for 2.5 hours). After speaking for a while with them, they knocked it down to $6/gallon, but said they were unable to go any lower and that my horrible rental experience had nothing to do with the gas charge and that there was nothing they could do further. They also rejected my request to explain to a supervisor what had happened.
Will never rent from Budget again.
Positiv: Great car, the team when we picked up was without cars but they did a great job informing us. Negativ: We were picking up at another location initially by there was only one person working and she wasn't prepared to handle the anger people waiting directed at her. No cars, 2-5 hour waits, etc. we transferred out reservation to a different hotel and they were much better able to meet the needs of a busy day without any cars.
Had to cancelNegativ: There was a two hour wait to get the car. Ridiculous. They probably did not even have enough cars to fill the reservations. Had to cancel.
Very very poorNegativ: Very bad service. They couldn't anticipated long weekend pressure. No car was there to provide us. Waited there for 4 hours. Thought of cancelling our long weekend. Not even got the similar car what we expected. We were so upset and down that finally met an accident. I personally recommend nobody to get car in long weekend from budget.
Negativ: Waited 2.5 hours to pick up a car they didn't have. Total mismanagement issue overbooking cars and leaving customers waiting.

Once and future Enterprise customerPositiv: Awesome service when the rush died down. Got an upgrade that was amazing to drive. Negativ: It took a while to get qualified for a debit card rental but hey not that many places will take them. .
Great Service Fair PricePositiv: Love the convenience of location and the young, courteous staff that made my experience easy from start to finish. They even upgraded to a better car which was much appreciated since it was raining out. They offered me a better price to rent for the weekend then I found at the airport and anywhere online. I will be returning.

Having one back door and that being locked (childproof) was kind of inconvenient.

Too much hasslePositiv: In the end the car was economic on gasNegativ: Reservation was made but they did not have a car. Went to a different location and they also did not have a car. Ended up renting from another location in the back bay. Wasted at least two hours running around for a car when I could have been on the road. Since I left later in the morning the traffic was horific thanks to enterprise rent a car. I got to my destination late and my trip was useless.

expected to pay morePositiv: After going threw a litany of requirments, i was finally able to rent a car.Negativ: I did know that this location not only make you bring in last bills and pay stub like i was applying for a job. The rental process is misleading and possiable illigal. They take out the total amount from your account then they take out a additionally $250 fee supposedly to hold until you bring the car back but they withdraw it with the total amount. When you return the car you have to wait up until 5 business days to get your $250 back into your account. The car are really dirty and there is no privacy when rental a car and giving them your personal information

Enterprise comes through!Positiv: Needed a car in a hurry and they came through. Had many choices on lot, and offered others off-site when I came at 11am. Transaction was quick, efficient and friendly, on both pick-up and return. No time wasted at all. A very lively location, close to subway stop, shops and 3 minute drive to the Mass Pike entry.Negativ: Nothing
Negativ: I had to wait 30 minutes to pick the car up and the lady was not kind to me..she did not ask me the fuel options, did not explain much, just wanted me to sign and leave.
I returned the car early with quick return but have not received my invoice yet, as it explained on the box. I should not have any extras but l am not sure whether they would charge me anthing extra
Poor Customer ServiceNegativ: They don't have any information. Their policies are waste. Their toll charges are compulsory if you don't take it they put fine on you. Thier insurance charges are ao high. Just having car charges low as compared to other companies doesn't matter overall thrifty is super expensive including all insurance toll and other services. They don't have decent cars too.
Small office, but decent servicePositiv: Car and service was as expected.Negativ: Separation of collision and liability insurance was a surprise, but it turns out that's common.
Negativ: I had booked my car rental 4 months in advance to ensure I would get the car I wanted for a road trip through New England. However, when I got to Thrifty they said they could not find the keys for the car I had requested. I had wanted a small car to save on gas mileage and the elevation I would be driving on. Instead they gave me a mid size car that went through a lot of gas. Also, the car reeked of cigarette smoke. The smell was so strong we had to invest in air freshners which did very little for the smell. I had tried spraying perfume as well which was only a momentary fix. We kept the windows down for most of the drive. When we would turn on the AC, a very sour smell would come through the vents. Also, we had been told rolls would be covered; however, before leaving we told the car had not been registered to EZ Pass so we would be responsible for all tolls, which added up.
Long story short, do not rent from this company.
