Easy drop off.Positiv: The whole thing took maybe 5 minutes. Staff was polite, and quick. No extra fees, and nothing to sign. Signage was easy.Negativ: Not much, other than the drop off location was exposed sub zero temps even in the garage. Not really their fault, every rental company was in the same spot. Just mention it to say stay in your car until they get to you, then have your stuff together also you can haul butt toward the terminal on cold days.

Not available when expectedPositiv: When we were finally able to get the vehicle we had originally booked, it was clean, beautiful and more than we could hope for. We booked a premium SUV-Suburban and it came equipped with a dual DVD system, leather, trailer hitch, etc and was perfect for our trip with a family of 7 to Denver for a softball tournament. Negativ: We were supposed to pick the vehicle up at 12. Upon arrival, they didn't have it and tried to give us a mini-van. Keep in mind, we are picking this up at an airport. He had someone drop him off, waited in line for 30 minutes and they didn't have the vehicle.
later that day, they called and said they weren't sure they would get it in, and offered us a Tahoe. We needed the extra space in the back, and this isn't what we had booked. We declined, and called all other rental places to see if they happened to have a premium SUV available-there were none.
Finally-they called around 4:30pm to let us know that it was available.
If it weren't for this incident in getting the car, we would have said excellent. As far as the desk help-they couldn't have cared less that we were inconvenienced.
Negativ: don't care for a jeep compass
Positiv: The all wheel drive on my rental was extremely helpful as I traveled through a winter storm of rain and sleet!

Wait time was approximately 40 minutes when I arrived and about an hour by the time I was issued a vehicle...Unacceptable!
Negativ: My pick up time was 12 noon, when I arrived, the doors were locked and I couldn’t get the car that I reserved. Horrible.

Nice car, great rate, slow servicePositiv: Found a great rate on my car from Budget in Indianapolis. Car was clean and appeared to be fully cleaned and serviced. It also had lane change warning and accident avoidance systems installed.Negativ: Slow service with only 2 agents covering both Budget and Avis counters and several people (with lots of questions) in line. Also, did not discover until later in the rental there was no owner's manual in glove box to refer to for answers to questions regarding the new and unfamiliar equipment on this car.
Positiv: The staff did a good job and were friendly. The second car was fine. The first car was very sticky from spilled pop from the previous driver. No one had cleaned it up.Negativ: Reference my first comment.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICSM Positiv: Staff was friendly. Negativ: Only one person working at the Payless/Budget counter. When did it change that the renter no longer walks the car to look for dings/scratches?? Was told to stay in the car as they did the walk. I finally got out and found things they missed thankfully before leaving.
Great car, service and pricePositiv: Car was clean and well maintained. The service was very fast at the counter on pickup and the drop off was even quicker. The overall price was very competitive and we had a good experience with Budget on this trip.
Great customer servicePositiv: The person at the desk at the location in Downtown Indianapolis was very helpful. When we weren't able to leave the garage, she came out to help. When we were returning the car she stayed on the phone with us so we could navigate the confusing parking structure. She also gave us great tips on where to visit and which roads to take/avoid due to scenery or road maintenance.
Need more counter representativesPositiv: Very courteous , professional and efficient representative.Negativ: You only had two counter reps on a counter with eight stations. This created long wait times.
Negativ: The line to pick the car was over 40min long and the car wasn't clean.

Negativ: We I checked out the car I requested that the fuel price be added so I didn’t have to search for a gas station, deal with weather, etc. when I returned car, I was charged $130. For gas because she hadn’t included in my contract. I know I should have read before I left the desk but when there are people waiting and only 1 person covering the counter - I didn’t stop the process to review. Bad surprise at the end of the trip. Very bad.

Terrible customer service at hertz rental counterPositiv: The car was acceptable.Negativ: Thrifty and dollar were closed upon arrival and a note on the desk directed me to the Hertz rental counter.
The lady at the Hertz rental counter was incredibly rude and very annoyed at me, like my rental was a HUGE inconvenience for her. She sent me outside with directions to a kiosk location but her directions sent me into a grass area. When I went back to get clarification she gave a exaggerated sigh and eye roll then proceeded to tell me a completely different set of instructions. I finally found the Dollar Kiosk and the customer support was much better.

Angry over extra costPositiv: Car was clean and worked fine if noisyNegativ: Was unpleasantly surprised by about 30% tax on additional driver charges of 13 dollars a day and that the agent did not tell me at pickup about the taxes. And at drop off neither of the two staff knew why the 39 dollars had become 12 plus dollars more until we called the manager who said it was because of additional taxes. She asked if I had a revised contract after I added the additional driver. Yes I did and, when I looked at it the final charge was correct, with the additional taxes. But no one told me at outset nor point it out on the new contract that I signed without reviewing

Without cruise control I had to be on the gas pedal. That in combination with seating positions allowed car vibrations to cause pain in leg, ankle and foot. I had to stop every 2 hours to get relief. I got to the enterprise location and was unable to get my reservation because I only had a debit card. This is definitely the fault of kayak, but I would think enterprise could put a little more pressure on this matter to get kayak in gear. Either way I got it resolved by going to 1 of the 2 locations in the state that takes debit (7101 w washington street) and had everything taken care of perfectly at that location!

We needed a 7 person vehicle and weren't offered any sort of consolation or assistance in finding a suitable vehicle. Absolutely done with Enterprise on every level.
medium car rentalPositiv: The car - nissan altima was clean and big for 4 of us + our bags. Location was convenient for us as we were heading to Carmel.Negativ: The choice of originally booked smaller sized cars - out of one! There was the only one car available. So, we upgraded at at an extra cost to a larger size vehicle (also, only one was available!).
There was an upsale of extras, that I always decline, still found unauthorised item on the emailed receipt and had to call to cancel the charge. The fuel tank was only 1/4 full upon pick up.
Make sure you have the right kind of credit card.Negativ: Enterprise policy meant that I could not use a card for payment that I had used at other rental companies. It was a Paypal business card that can be processed as a debit or credit card and I had used it just last summer at ACE rental with no issues. This really threw a wrench into the works and I had difficulty making other arrangements. The person I was dealing with was courteous but refused to even attempt to run my card as a credit card as I do on dozens of occasions every week. It was very inconvenient. The gentleman did allow me to return the vehicle without filling the gas tank for our trouble, but it was still a great delay and inconvenience.

Negativ: There was no car at the airport for us under the terms we reserved under. They said if you can get over to the other location they may be able to help you. Instead of $130, they said $399. We went to another company at the airport did much better than Enterprise was offering.

First time, last timeNegativ: I realized I needed to add a day after I say my confirmation. The price more than doubled because the 2 days had been at a sale price that they said was no longer available. And I was only able to get a refund for approximately 1/3 of the total price of the vehicle. This was our first time using Hertz and it will be our last.
Negativ: Insurance per day is the highest around at over $30+. No choice for full or liability coverage. Customer service is bad. Would not go back.

Confused and inept Negativ: After the booking they closed their location but still haven't returned my money. Even after several contacts with Hertz I still haven't seen my fees returned to the credit card. They said they don't have any record of the reservation. I had to put in a claim dispute with my credit card company.

When I went to pick up the car, it turned out I had to pay 200 dollars for 4 days of insurance, otherwise I could not take the car. Should I knew this earlier, I could have booked a flight or looked at different means of travel. This way I did not have a choice but to pay the fee. Horrible experience that I do not wish for anyone.
Negativ: The rental was placed on line the night beofre. Come the next day, neither of the 2 hertz locations had any cars to rent. If I hadn't called prior to coming, I would have also wasted my time traveling to their location. Very bad service, bad experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, there was only one van for renters on Sunday and the local office was not answering the phone when I called to find out information. Payless will not be my choice of car rentals in the future.

Positiv: Didn’t have to wait long to pick up car, drop off was very quick & the shuttle was immediately there to take us back to the airport. Shuttle drivers great.Negativ: It was listed as onsite at airport but we had to take a shuttle bus several miles away. You have to call their office for a pickup instead of continuous running shuttles when we first landed at IND airport.
Good Value Positiv: Car was what we wanted and was ready to go with minimal check out. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Negativ: Off site, shuttle to the rental location was slow and not well marked at the airport. But I will use this company again.

The price was about USD 130 for 6 days.
When I came they told me that I have to buy an insurance at 53 per day. this means another USD 300 on the rental. I argued and reduced it to 47 per day but still my bill was 434 at the end for a mini car. I pay insurance with high coverage for my daughter's Jeep in Indiana at $950 per year. 47 dollar per day is 1700% more expensive. Never again!
