Best Rental Ever!Positiv: Easy, friendly, great service! We felt like we got a fantastic deal. Not only was the rental process easy, but returning the car was also quick and easy.
DisAdvantagePositiv: The only thing I liked was returning the car so I can put Advantage in the rearview mirror.Negativ: Charging a $20/day (for mileage greater than 250 miles) local driver fee is ridiculous, especially when my email states that there is unlimited mileage with the rental. The location has no information on this policy available for the customer. Will never again use Advantage for my car rental needs; It's not worth the headache.
TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!!!Positiv: NOTHINGNegativ: Got to the office and find out bcoz I was a local resident, I will get only 250 miles a day, not the unlimited miles as stated on the contract when I booked the car. If I want to get the unlimited miles, I had to pay $20/per day extra, which was ridiculous. Did not have a time to look for other car rental companies and wind up paying much more than what I signed the first Contract.
Secondly, I booked the SUV for my family and they told me at the end that they do not have the SUV in hand so I have to get the Car which I did not want to begin with.
Overall HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience with the Advantage. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ADVANTAGE RENT A CAR AGAIN. EVER!! And will advise the others to stay away from them.
Positiv: The cars were clean and seemed well maintained.Negativ: They advertise unlimited mileage, but not for local residents. They'll be more than happy to offer unlimited mileage if you are willing to pay extra for it. It just screams false advertising. I will not be renting from this place anymore.

Take a ride share there,but forgot my wallet. I talked to the employee to see if they could rent to me without it. No. So I asked what all I need and get told me my driver's license and insurance. I git a ride share back home and back to advantage. So I had now spent over $40 on ride share. I only had a debit card available and they would not rent to me. I was very unhappy. I explained my situation how I had already spent over $40 to get there and the employee mentioned nothing to me about needing a credit card. The manager was unhelpful and very much uninterested in my situation. The employee I first spoke is now arguing with my with a loud volume in hospital voice and very confrontational. He was dealing with another customer that gad a young child with him. This employee walks towards me in a threatening manner. He is a muscular and fit individual wearing a shirt that's two sizes two small fir him and he looks like he's busting out of it. He makes comments about how he will take care of me and that i need to shut up before he makes me outside. I took these as physical threats. The manager just stood there not saying a word to the employee. I asked the mngr if he would interject and tell the employee to stop with his threatening behavior, but the mngr chose to do nothing. I felt extremely unsafe and was ready to defend myself at all costs. I left the establishment without a rental and had to get another ride share home. My vehicle was in the repair shop so I needed a rental until it was repaired. So I am not out about $60 for the ride shares. This was a horrible experience and is unexceptionable. I would like to know exactly how this will be handled by higher up managers. I would also like to be compensated for the ride share. I would never had mad this reservation knowing this would happen.

Then when we got the receipt there was over a hundred and twenty dollars of charges we didn't know we would be paying. We declined extra insurance but were charged 25 dollars a day for it. Then some other random charges. For things we didn't understand. I've rented with kayak a number of times in the past and have had no issues. I'm nervous to ever try and use kayak again.

Positiv: The Car was clean and good qualityNegativ: The pickup location was mislabled as a "shuttle" from the airport. There was no shuttle to this location as it ended up being a kisok at a Walmart. I tried to call the location several time before my rental to make sure the car would be available when I arrived and when I would call It would transfer me to the Avis national call center who would just tell me that yes they had my reservation and it was confirmed. When I arrived to pick up the car it was not ready and I had to wait for it to be delivered from the Airport. I had to make special arrangements to go pick up the car at this location when I could have easily picked it up at the airport. This was poorly communicated when renting the car.

Negativ: I did not like being charge 5.6% more $16.13 more on my credit card. I was quoted $287.87 on my confirmation but charged $304 on my credit card.

Great to transport Softball TeamPositiv: We travelled to San Antonio and Laredo, TX for the Pony World Series. We rented two 12-passenger vans to transport the team / luggage / equipment / chaperones. Great quality vans. Easy to book. Easy pick-up. Easy drop-off. Negativ: We waited more than 30 min for the Budget van to take us from the San Antonio airport to the Budget lot. The wait time for the courtsey van was excessive. When we returned the rentals, the wait time was less but still seemed excessive. We waited about 15 min for the Budget courtsey van to return to the lot and there were 8 others waiting before us and had been waiting for at least 5-7 min.
San Antonio Positiv: The car was nice and clean and the price was really good. Negativ: Picking up, there was only one person behind the counter so it took us at least 45 minutes to get car and get on our way. The rental place didn't open until 5am and we had a 6am flight which was a little scary trying to make the flight.

Negativ: Why is the so called "airport dropoff" not at the same location where i picked up the car. It was at some remote deserted looking "truck rental" location that was closed at 6pm with, of course, no shuttle service to the terminal.

Positiv: They exchanged cars with us when we arrived in Venice, much better vehicle.Negativ: In Punta Gorda they didn't have very many cars, we were given a car that needed to be serviced and cleaned.The manager , Zachary Stivers, at Venice was excellent in allowing us to trade vehicles. When we returned to Punta Gorda with our car, the Manager there, Brooke Molloy, was super nice as well and allowed us a couple of extra hours and we were able to drop it off at the airport instead of the location we rented.
Rent a WreckPositiv: The car drove nicely and got great gas mileage. The staff members were helpful and courteous. I liked the opportunity to prepay for the gasoline so I could return the car without refueling.Negativ: Tire was noisy, bluetooth didn't work, inside windows were extremely dirty and had to be cleaned, no instruction manual in the car.
Toll Road pass Positiv: Pick up and drop off was easy and I felt like they were very conscientious of my time. The woman who checked us out called for a shuttle as she started checking us out so it was waiting for us when we were done handing the car in. Negativ: Overall the car rental was fine, except that the vehicle does not have a toll pass program. Then Enterprise charge a fee per day that you use toll roads, but due to not having a toll pass we were charged all types of extra fees from the toll roads. It felt like a scam.

Sunday Store HoursNegativ: I wish the staff at Enterprise would have informed me how early their location closes on Sundays (3 pm). I did not get back to their location until after 3 pm and had to hold onto the car for another day until I was able to return it the following day.
stay at the airportPositiv: The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful to all the customers at the pick up location. She offered that I could drop it off at the airport for free to save us the trouble of transporting all my luggage back over to the airport rental station and then into a bus to get to the airportNegativ: Car was dirty and they marked it as a full tank when it was one bar down on the fuel meter. The airport location was very hard to find. I regret using any non airport location, because the service and the cars are not the same.
Hidden fees added on without my aknowledgementNegativ: Hidden fees were added to my bill totaling the sum of over $200, Enterprise did not explain the process of their billing to me and told me that the total cost of the renting the car would be one thing, which I agreed with and signed a document stating that. Go to find out on return of the car the added fees and things added to the car without my knowledge almost doubled my car rental. This is unacceptable and shanty business, I will not use again.

We thought once we paid on line we would just be able to sign and pick up the car. We spent about 15-20 minutes being "sold" extra add ons. I know she had a job to let us know what was available but we were guilted/shamed for not taking the extra insurance or buying gas from them rather than bringing the car back full. We did not purchase these extra items.

The agent didn’t push up selling me coverage and upgraded me without additional charges. Very clean well maintained car that was easy to pickup. Car was fine. Company seriously lacks in customer service.Positiv: The car was nice and clean, and the price was right, but you get what you pay for.Negativ: I rented a car that said it had unlimited mileage. However, the fine print and the lady at the desk said I was only allotted 250 miles/day even though it says unlimited online. Then why not get that corrected.
Then she asks where I was going so she could calculate the mileage. She said it would be 2,000 miles round trip so I would need to purchase unlimited mileage (at an additional daily rate) to keep from going over. I've made this drive several times, and that didn't sound right. I grabbed my phone and did the search only to find out that it was 1200 miles roundtrip. I get trying to upsell, but don't deceive your customers to try and swindle more money out of them.
Returned the car and thought everything was all good only to find out someone made an $800 mistake. They put the mileage numbers in the wrong spot so I was charged per mile.
Finally get a refund but they shorted me. Apparently, they can only do a maximum refund of $750 at once.
I will never rent from them again.

For the price, pretty good. Positiv: Quick pick-up and drop-off, with very friendly staff.Negativ: One of the staff gave me unclear or wrong instructions on refueling options for the car, and how to get through toll ways in the rental. When I dropped of the vehicle I was told that these bad instructions meant that I would incur extra fees even though I was told otherwise at the outset.

Watch out for unnecessary up-salesPositiv: The rental price was great and the car was perfectly adequate.Negativ: Bottom line is to understand your personal car insurance coverage and make an informed decision. Be prepared for "strong-arm" up-sales of optional insurance which is likely not needed. We have personal car insurance which covers rental cars and knew this when we arrived at the rental counter. The rental agent aggressively pushed for us to pay for the additional, optional insurance which was actually more per day than the rental cost. We refused, she continued to push to sell the optional insurance before finally, angrily completing the rental.

Positiv: The shuttle to and from the airport was nice.Negativ: They advertised at the time of reservation a Toyota Corolla but I got a Kia Rio. I said to the woman that the ad was Corolla. She said not at this price. The car had a bad odor inside and the windows were dirty inside and out. I was concerned about crash safety. I know Toyotas are highly rated but Kia's are not.
The facilities were not very well kept. Dilapidated would be a good word. I would call it Sleazy instead of E-Z.

Hertz sucksPositiv: Nothing :(Negativ: I called to move my reservation to the next day because we did not make it on the flight, the lady told me I had to cancel my reservation and she would rebook it for and additional 320.00, plus the 252.00 that my original reservation was for. I went on line to book another vehicle after she canceled my initial reservation (she told me that was the policy) So when I arrived the next day to pick up a car from hertz (not my choice, but they were the cheapest for a car) they gentleman told me at the counter that what she did was wrong, but he could not refund my money or give me what I initially booked, he said I should have called the local number (which I did) and I explained that I did and the customer service person said that was my only option.

Negativ: I did not like that I was not told about how to drop off car! i had to call the toll free number . It is near the airport so I cpuld barely here the lady giving me instructions. The car was noy filled up . I had to go to put gas which came out to 12.00. Cars that I have rented have always been full of gas. This took time and money away from leavin at my time to Arlington.

Watch where you book!Positiv: Once at the correct location the ease of the rental was great. They were nice to drive me to the office the rental was booked through. Negativ: I requested a vehicle at the Hertz location at the San Antonio airport - nothing stated it was at an off site location. They charged me $35 to return the vehicle to the airport location. Car was smaller than anticipated - book a Nissan and received a Toyota Yaris.
San Antonio Hertz Needs to work on AttitudePositiv: Rented a brand new Buick, which should have made this experience a good one.Negativ: At check-in the representative was unfriendly. He seemed to take offense that I had paid through KAYAK and didn't want to take the information about the 3rd party insurance I had purchased online for this rental. He insisted that I tell him who insured my personal vehicles and then entered that into his computer. I'm glad I didn't need to use the insurance because I'm sure there would have been a problem. Checking out was just as unfriendly as the representative that guided me to parking said nothing to me but the one at the desk expected me to know the exact mileage of the vehicle when I got there. The lot was also very dark.
Positiv: Drop off was easy. Car was clean. Negativ: Pickup was a huge pain. Avis employees handled all of their line before even speaking to us...over 20 min before anyone even acknowledged us in the Payless line.
It’s was okay. Positiv: Cheap Negativ: Hard to enter and exit. Directions aren’t clear. And the lady that helped me was rude and I felt like I was bothering her. She didn’t ask me if I wanted to prepay for my fuel (which I always do when I rent a car) she handed me the receipt and I asked about when can I prepay for the fuel and then she tells me with an attitude “you wanted to prepay for the fuel?” And in my mind was two things. One - you would of known if you asked (do your job) and two I had no time to tell her bc she just did the transaction with very few words. Just a terrible customer experience. The car was clean and fine though.

Hidden charges. Price is a lie. Positiv: The vehicle was great. Negativ: My quote was almost $100 cheaper than what was actually charged. I questioned the amount before I signed and was assured that the escalated amount was for incidentals and would change after I returned the vehicle. I was charged the higher price. I reached out to their customer service and opened a ticket which I received an email a matter of minutes later saying my ticket was closed and resolved. Stating the charges were correct. I called for further follow up and was told that I signed so I had to pay. It’s a bait scam.

RSP is not spelled out in the contract, I discovered later that it is Roadside Service.
Positiv: I really liked how quickly Krystal checked me in and got my car. I was in and out quickly. Negativ: The interior of the car was dirty on the drivers side door. When the car door was opened it looked like a drink was spilled and then dried. You could see the little spots of liquid.
The customer service made up for the problemsPositiv: The manager resolved my issues with them not having a car for me on the lot as best he could. He was courteous and professional and the staff was friendly despite having irate customers. That made the whole experience a reason I would use them again. Negativ: I pre-booked a compact SUV and when I arrived, but after I did the paperwork and paid/put down deposit, was told the only vehicle on the entire lot was a mini-van. That was my only option otherwise I'd have to return the following day to get the car type I reserved. Apparently this is a common problem.

Courtesy and professionalismPositiv: Shuttle driver from airport to rental was great, super friendly and helpful. Same with counter attendant. Loved that we were allowed to select from a variety of available vehicles in the class we had reserved. Really great experience. Final charges were exactly as expected.
