Positiv:: Das schoene an diesem Hotel ist, dass es mit viel Liebe gefuerht und gepflegt wird. Die Zimmer sind sehr gross und dass Fruehstueck war auch sehr gut. Einen riesen Pluspunkt bekommt das Hotel von uns fuer seine Lage und die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter. Man kann entweder mit einem Bus (dauer ca. 2 min.) oder zu Fuss (ca. 5 min.) zum Il Campo gelangen. Die Mitarbeiter haben uns beim einchecken direkt eine Karte von Siena gegeben und uns alles bestens erklaert. Wir koennen dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen!

Positiv:: The Hotel provided very comfortable accommodation for the four of us in one room. The room also had pleasant views across the Tuscan country side. The hotel has a rustic appeal that suited what we were looking for. It is situated on the south side of Siena and just outside the old city wall and so gives quick & easy access to clients who wish to tour the southern villages and countryside of Tuscany on day trips. In contrast with many other locations it afforded easy and free parking which becomes important for people travelling by car. The hotel is isolated from the main road and being relatively small provides a tranquil location with olive groves on onside. Staff were very helpful at all times with excellent suggestions. A good B/fast.

There is a bus stop for the centre of the city just in front of the hotel gate. The room was big and well equipped, but with old floor tiles, some of them - a trap. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great for Sienna, with the bus stop over the road and bus tickets from the front desk for €1. Not quite so good: The breakfast was limited, with no hot food. But the coffee was freshly made and very good. There were no Tea/Coffee facilities in the room and no bar or restaurant in the Hotel. There was however an excellent restaurant next door, so all in all I can recommend this Hotel, especially for exploring Tuscany.

Das Auto kann in einem nahegelegenen Parkhaus (10 min Gehzeit) gratis abgestellt werden (die Kosten werden vom Hotel übernommen). Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber, groß und wir hatten einen tollen Ausblick über die Stadt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich (auch Deutsch und Englisch werden gesprochen), das Frühstück ausgezeichnet.

Allerdings lassen sich in den italienischen Touristenzentren viele kleinere Hotels im Windschatten ihres Standortvorteils gehen und sind lausig. Nicht so der Albergo Centrale: Großzügig, geschnittenes, befenstertes, relativ neuwertiges Bad, extrem sauber, eine in der Beschreibung unerwähnt gebliebene Dachterasse mit Blick auf die Torre del Mangia, Sonnenschirm usw., ein bißchen kitschig, aber gemütlichst eingerichtet und mit einem überaus freundlichen Rezepteur gesegnet. Mit Englisch kommt man ebenfalls gut zurecht, wenn man des Italienischen nicht mächtig ist. Frühstück besorgt man sich am besten in fußläufig erreichbaren Supermercati.

Positiv:: We really liked the location. It was 2 blocks from the Piazza Gramsci....where the bus drops you off coming from Florence. It was 4 blocks from the bus stop that takes you to the Siena train station. It was also within close walking distance of all of the wonderful sights in Siena. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant and helpful...that is worth a lot to us.

Positiv:: Our room at the Cannon d'Oro was charming and very spacious. Our room at the next hotel we stayed in (in Milan) was the size of a cracker jack box! It was extremely convenient to the old part of Siena and to buses.
