Negativ:: Breakfast is between 8.30am-10.30am. Most of the sights in Sintra such as the Pena palace get busy really early, so they advise to be there when they open (9.30am). I think it would be a good idea if they offered an earlier breakfast because at 8.30am all the guests in the hotel are trying to have breakfast at the same time. There was quite a wait for the coffee machine and having breakfast at 8.30am makes it difficult to get to the sights early as Pena palace is about 20 mins away. Other than that great place.

Positiv:: The breakfast was perfect. Location is fantastic. The staff was very friendly. Everything was OK.

Negativ:: There were some problems with croud of people and pollutions from diesel engines.

Positiv:: Eine wirklich fabelhafte Unterkunft in Sintra, ein schön saniertes altes Haus, große helle Zimmer, netter begrünter Patio, ruhig gelegen und sehr freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück ist auch ganz gut!

Positiv:: Ein sehr kleiner Frühstücksraum, in dem die Gastgeberin aber alles was das Herz begehrt zubereitet. Die Lage direkt in der Altstadt von Sintra ist spitze, zu Fuss kann hier die komplette Altstadt besichtigt werden.

Negativ:: Das Apartment hatte leider einen modrigen Geruch.

Positiv:: Gute Lage in Sintra. Sehr freundliches Personal. Gutes Frühstück.

Negativ:: Die Dusche funktionierte nicht, deshalb beim Komfort die Abzüge. Bad sehr klein.

Negativ:: Es liegt in einem schönen grünen Pinienwald, aber es ist ein Auto erforderlich, um alle anderen Annehmlichkeiten, einschließlich des Strandes (25 Minuten entfernt) oder Sintra selbst (20 Minuten), zu erreichen.

Positiv:: Breakfast selection was excellent. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Pool area was very well equipped and managed. Golf courses were quiet and in very good condition. Plenty of activities to keep us occupied. In hotel shops were good. Particularly liked the tapas at the golf course and the beach restaurant at Estoril.

Negativ:: Reception desk was always very busy. I felt when hiring a buggy for golf it should be equipped with water included in the price and also free range tokens provided for people paying to play the course - it just felt as though we were being charged for every little thing. Bread and oil was placed on the tables, unordered, and then included in the bill - I think your staff should ask if it is wanted rather than make that assumption.

Positiv:: Resort ground was nested in the surrounding hills and forests. Bike and run trails through the golf course and forest. Comfortable bed and pillow. Large gin selection at the main bar. Friendly and helpful staff all around.

Positiv:: We absolutely adore everything about this hotel! We are getting married in the 14th century monastery next year and cannot wait to return and stay!

Positiv:: Amazing green fields well taken care. Friendly and highly educated staff.

Negativ:: The hotel looks like it is frozen in time. It needs definitely an upgrade to align with the high end price. The rooms look like they were extract from an old movie, with very old furniture and giant old phones. The bathroom is big but it also needs some upgrades. The shower was constantly falling down and almost injuring us. The breakfast was very crowded and they make you wait in a queue. Not compatible for this hotel price range. The pool adult area was almost empty every day because is the most windy corner. And to help the water was frozen cold. No one can enjoy that gorgeous pool.

Negativ:: It doesn't deliver what the price promises. Staff is very friendly and wants to help, but it seems like the management structure doesn't allow you to actually get what you need/want. Simple requests (like: can I have a paper napkin at breakfast) take far too much time and effort (10 min + manager had to help...).

Positiv:: Exquisite and charming. Superior room effectively a chambered suite with panoramic views from the balcony. Staff warm and friendly almost likely staying with family friends although much less effort. Short walk to historic centre. I loved every minute and will return. Have already recommended to family and friends.

Positiv:: Location was great. Breakfast was at a close location and truly amazing and delicious. No views from my room since we were two floors down but clean and comfy and perfect otherwise.

Positiv:: Amazing location, facilities and staff. We loved the size of the rooms, the shower and the beautiful garden. We also had an incredible dinner at the restaurant right across the road. I would definitely come back and stay again. The staff were so polite and helpful and minded our bags after we had checked out so we could explore Sintra! If only all accomodation was this good.

Positiv:: Excellent location. Host Susanah was really kind and helpful. Breakfast is yummy with stunning views and such good value. House has old Portuguese charm. Lovely pool and gardens. Excellent views from room and garden. Book you won't regret it. Only thing is better to have a car but restaurants in 10 mins walking distance.

Positiv:: A beautiful villa where you can feel a true portuguese vibe. The pool, the dining area are very cozy, in the evening time romantic! The double room on the second floor looking at Pena Palace was very spacious, clean, all prepared for me when I arrived. Breakfast beyond expectations, always ready when guests come down, all fresh and you can even smell the cruasans in the oven while in bed. These were the best cruasans I have ever had.:) The villa is lucky to have such lovely host Susana, wishing her all the best.

Negativ:: The distance to Sintra town was not the easiest for a person without a car, but Uber was a good help. For those guests with a car that should be no issue at all.

Positiv:: The breakfast was extra 7 euros each but it was well worth it. The staff and owner couldn’t do enough for us and were very accommodating.

Negativ:: No air conditioning in the bedrooms

Positiv:: The host was lovely. We were given a very personalised service. Location is great, amazing outlook of the mountain. Chickens and dogs roaming free as well. Felt right at home!

Positiv:: The property is approx 3km from Sintra and the views of Castelo dos mourous and Palacio da Pena are stunning from the terrace. We were welcomed by the owner Susanna and made to feel very welcome- snacks and drinks are provided at a small cost (honesty bar) and we were encouraged to help ourselves to the fruit growing on the trees, apples, pears, plums, figs. Susanna also recommended the local restaurants, a short walk away. We enjoyed a swim in the pool before sitting on the terrace to soak up the views. Our bedroom was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast served in the morning was fresh, delicious and plentiful and nothing was too much trouble. We were also kindly given a box of apples/pears on leaving. We would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful place.

Positiv:: Wir waren für 3 Tage in der Unterkunft. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer im Erdgeschoss. Besonders der weitläufige Außenbereich mit Pool war wunderschön. Auch Obst konnte man sich von den zahlreichen Obstbäumen selbst pflücken, wenn man wollte. Beherbergt wurden wir von einer Portugiesischen Familie, die sehr freundlich und immer sehr bemüht war. Auch das Frühstück war ein Traum!

Positiv:: Die Begrüßung war sehr herzlich. Auf dem Parkplatz kamen und zudem Hühner und ein Labrador entgegen. Es wirkte direkt sehr familiär. Zur Begrüßung gab es ein Glas Portwein und der Papierkram wurde erledigt. Das Zimmer war sehr ordentlich und mit direktem Zugang zum Garten. Im Aufenthaltsraum standen mehrere Körbe Obst. Dieses stand kostenfrei zur Verfügung, da es aus dem eigenen Garten war. Vom Pool aus hat man eine sehr gute Sicht auf die Schlösser! Die Haustür lässt sich mit einem Code öffnen und das Tor mit einem Öffner, den man überreicht bekommt. Morgens wird man von Hahn geweckt ;)

Positiv:: Fern ab vom Touristenrummel in Sintra in paradiesischer Umgebung und trotzdem nahe bei vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Mit dem Auto ist man schnell bei vielen Palästen, Parks, in Lissabon, im Nationalpark und am Meer - wir sind nie länger als eine halbe Stunde gefahren und waren zwei Wochen da. Und mal ein Pooltag bietet sich auch an. Auf alle Wünsche wird schnell reagiert, sinnvolle Tipps für Besichtigungen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und gute Restaurants sind selbstverständlich. Das gesamte Personal von der Chefin bis zur Putzkraft sind äußerst freundlich. Das Zimmer mit Kitchenette bietet Vorteile einer Ferienwohnung kombiniert mit dem Frühstücksangebot einer sehr guten Pension.

Negativ:: Das WLAN müsste erweitert werden, soll aber zeitnah geschehen.

Positiv:: The appartment was great, super comfy bed! At check-in we got a lot of great tips from Marcel, very helpful! Also stay there a few days, to get time to relax by the pool. There is a snack-bar but bring your own in you need something specific.

Positiv:: Great location for a 2 night stay in Sintra, with the property only a 10 minute drive into the main town, and also only around 10-15 minutes to the coast. The room was clean, comfortable with a nice bathroom. Pool area was lovely with a great view of the surrounding area and Pena Palace in the distance. The property can serve food during the daytime, in which the Mixed salad in particular stood out as being excellent.

Negativ:: We found our stay somewhat of a mixed bag. On our first morning at breakfast, we had to set our own table, as well as then asking someone to clear the table from the previous people who sat there. The staff on duty seemed flustered and not on top of breakfast service at all. Lots of breakfast items were missing, the omelette was too salty and the coffee empty. It’s not good when you have to keep asking staff to do things every few minutes. Breakfast on the whole should be of a better standard for the room rate. Our toilet bin was not emptied during our entire stay, despite asking the staff to do so, and then saying that they would sort. Pretty from considering you have to put your toilet paper in the bin and not the toilet. There is no information provided to say that your honesty bar bill or food ordered from the snack menu during your stay had to be settled in cash upon checkout. The lady seemed most put out that she had to get the card machine for me to pay the bill. This could be communicated to guests much clearer. I think this property could be fantastic with a few changes in their staff (especially during breakfast), as our whole stay here felt extremely mediocre.

Positiv:: Location, rural but not far to visit Sintra, the coast and Lisbon. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff ( Sonia, Marcel and owner Tina). Lovely filling breakfast, beautiful quiches and cake☺️. Comfortable, well appointed room, quiet location and lovely weather helped.

Positiv:: We just returned from family vacation in Portugal and stayed the last few nights at Quinta Verde. We had an amazing stay! The property and grounds were amazing! So beautifully manicured and maintained. Even though there were other guests on the property, it felt like we had the entire villa to ourselves at most times, very private but staff was attentive at the same time. Marcelo was amazing! He was super accommodating and communicative; full of useful tips about the surrounding area and went well above and beyond in hospitality. Tina and staff (Anna, etc.) were all lovely and made us all feel right at home. We definitely plan to return and stay again but will do so for a longer period of time.

Positiv:: We paid extra for a large room with views over the garden and terrace. It certainly was spacious with high ceilings and a good size bathroom and bed, and it was nice and quiet. The gardens are lovely and the hotel exudes an air of old world charm and style. We liked the personal touches such as the shelves of blankets and lanterns to take out with you onto the terrace. We didn’t use the pool but it is in a stunning setting.

Negativ:: Would have liked more toiletries in the bathroom. There was hand wash and shower gel but no hair shampoo/conditioner. More attention needed over breakfast items- I picked up a yoghurt that was 8 days out of date and we were supplied with a half used pack of butter. This is not a luxury or boutique style hotel, but it is very atmospheric and, to be fair, very good value.

Sehr gut fand ich,das das hotelgelände in dem auch das auto stand nach 20 uhr abgesperrt wurde. Ich kann das hotel,alte villa,nur weiter empfehlen. Wir waren sogar 5 nächte dort.

Positiv:: We stayed from 11-13 Aug. Well located, literally 5 minutes from the train station. The staff were very helpful. We were given a basement room, with view of the garden/ lounge area. We had a massive room with a massive bathroom. For some reason, we were given a room equipped for a person with disability- but we did not mind - because it was so spacious, in every aspect! Breakfast was amazing! The hotel was walking distance to the bus stop where we could catch the bus to the National Pena Palace. It was also not far to walk to the town centre - and the journey towards the town centre was picturesque.

Positiv:: The breakfast is good. And we like the coffee and some pastries provided daily and free of charge in the basement.

Negativ:: NO.

Positiv:: Great location, amazing staff, helped with questions, keep our baggage after checkout. And breakfast was very nice!

Positiv:: The staff are outstanding; friendly, helpful and pro-active when dealing with problems. The location is excellent, the garden is lovely and the breakfast was great. Our bed was comfortable but being on the top floor it had a sloping roof-which meant the only places you could stand up straight we’re the bathroom and each side of the bed. The bathroom was well appointed and had everything you needed.

Negativ:: Two major issues dragged the score for this hotel down significantly: 1. There is air con in the rooms but they are not individually controlled so on our first night everyone on our air con circuit had the temperature set at 25C for the night. The rooms at the front of the hotel look out to building works (see below) and several late night bars so opening the window meant a lot of street noise throughout the night and then again early in the morning. So no sleep. When we raised this at reception they took immediate action which we were really grateful for, setting everyone’s air con to 20C which was welcome when it’s 33C outside! 2. There are building works being done in the adjoining building and the building across the street. That included using a large drill to remove plaster from the wall adjoining our bathroom. So no sleep after 7.30am and no siesta in the hottest part of the day either. And lots of headache tablets. This isn’t the hotel’s fault and there was absolutely nothing they could do about it, but as a guest, I’m looking for peace and quiet and to be able to sleep in the room. Two nights of insomnia and two days of non-stop drilling = bad rating. If the building works we’re finished we’d stay here again but I’d recommend rooms at the back of the hotel, looking into the garden and on the lower floors if you’re tall.

Positiv:: The staff at this hotel are all friendly and very willing to assist at anytime. There is an elevator so you do not have to walk the stairs to your room. The breakfast was really good and the staff were very attentive. The beds were very comfortable and rooms very clean. Bathroom facilities were very good.

Positiv:: wir waren zu dritt in einem Zimmer (Zimmernummer 6). Hier gab es ein Doppelbett und vor diesem wurde eine Art Zustellbett davor gestellt. Somit war der Gang sehr eng. Da wir aber nur eine Nacht da waren, hat uns dies nicht gestört. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentral. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Untersgeschoss gibt es einen Kaffeeautomaten und Kuchen (kostenlos), sowie einen Getränkeautomaten (mit humanen Preisen). Das Frühstück war der knaller. Sehr reichhaltiges Buffett ... Wir können die Unterkunft absolut empfehlen.

Negativ:: Hotelparkplätze gab es nicht. Man musste sich einen Platz auf der Straße suchen, wo die max. Parkdauer nur 4 Stunden beträgt. Und nachlösen während dieser Zeit ist nicht möglich.

Positiv:: Sehr zentrale Lage - Fluch und Segen zugleich.

Negativ:: Wir hatten eine Baustelle im Nachbarhaus. Es war sehr laut und auch die Fenster lassen einiges an Lärm durch

Positiv:: The hotel was pretty central, only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Sintra but there were a few bars and restaurants opposite us. Only a 2min walk from the train station which was very handy! Staff were friendly enough and the beds were very comfy.

Negativ:: The breakfast wasn't up to much I'm afraid, I only had it once whilst there. Perhaps also move the vending machine from opposite the rooms...we had a VERY grumpy guest come out of his room and shout at us because we had woke him up whilst getting water!

Positiv:: Sehr freundliche Aufnahme. Immer wurden wir von Ana und Jose nach unseren Wünschen gefragt. Hilfsbereites Vermieterpaar. Großes Badezimmer.

Negativ:: Das Frühstück ist deutlich verbesserungswürdig. Das Angebot beinhaltete im wesentlichen günstige Lidl-Produkte mit dem steten uniformen Geschmack. Frisches Obst hielt sich auch in Grenzen und die Präsentation entsprach eher einem zwei Sterne Hotel, nicht jedoch einer solch kleinen eher familiären Anlage. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer war ok. Es fehlten ein Fön und vor allem eine Toilettenbürste. Sauberkeit in der Anlage o.k., die Pflege der Außenanlagen ist verbesserungswürdig (vertrocknete Blumenkästen und Beete).

Zimmer war ok (sehr hellhörig, nur ein winziger Mülleimer) Wichtigste war aber vorhanden. Sauberkeit war auch nicht optimal aber ok. Frühstück ebenfalls ok (wenig Auswahl)

Positiv:: Gepflegtes Hotel, mit klasse Lage in Sintra. Das charmante Zimmer im Dachgeschoss überzeugte mit seiner Größe und Sauberkeit. Das Frühstück war lecker und hatte eine gute Auswahl. Wir fühlten uns von Anfang bis Ende sehr wohl. Optimal gelöst: Direkt hinter dem Hotel befindet sich ein kostenloser Parkplatz der auch nachdem check out genutzt werden konnte. Vom Chef des Hotels wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und er hat uns mit hilfreichen Tipps bei der Tagesplanuung unterstützt.

Positiv:: For us the location was ideal as a bit away from the hustle & bustle of the centre of Sintra with spectacular views. It's a bit of a hike up the hill to get to the historical centre but we didn't mind as downhill coming home after enjoying a wonderful meal plus a few drinks! Also super quiet at night so slept like babies. Lots of thoughtful touches to make guests comfortable such as fully equipped communal kitchen, drying rails for towels & clothes, baskets of fresh fruit from their gardens and water in rooms from font where you can also fill your own bottles.

Positiv:: Tolle Pension mit sehr hilfsbereitem und freundlichem Personal. Idyllisch Lage mit Blick auf alle drei Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht dort und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das zum Zimmer gelieferte Frühstück war gut.

Negativ:: Our room did not have any AC and the fans were all being used by other guests when we arrived. Our room was in the attic so we barely slept due to the suffocating heat. The beds could be bigger and more comfortable.

Positiv:: All the rooms we saw were super clean. Breakfast was excellent. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The room had everything we needed including good hairdryer, fruit, kettle. Pool water was a little refreshing temperature-wise. The proximity to the old town was not quite what we were expecting at around 10-15 minutes walk, just over a mile, but there are some shops closer along with the station.

Positiv:: Frühstück war richtig gut. Personal sehr freundlich. Prima Hotel, um mit dem Zug Lissabon zu besuchen. ( 5€ pro Person, 30 Minuten ) Sintra selbst hat auch jede Menge Sehenswürdigkeiten zu bieten. Es gibt auf dem Hotelgelände einen Raum mit "Lümmelecken" und einem Billiardtisch. Sehr ruhig.

Positiv:: The host was really nice and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely and everything was fresh including the freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly cooked eggs. There is a small but attractive pool surrounded by trees and shrubs and a large common room where you can just chill. Main building is lovely, very Portugese and tastefully furnished.

Negativ:: Unfortunately the room was too small, too hot, with no fan or air conditioning. The fan available was on a broken stand. We had nowhere to put our things, the shelf on one side of the bed was hanging off the wall, there were no bedside lamps and the hairdryer cable hardly reached the mirror. We should have looked properly when the host asked us if it was ok. On reflection, We should have asked for a bigger room, if one was available.

Positiv:: A 4 star guest house with 5 star service. Well located for the attractions and transport. Would definitely stay there again.

Positiv:: One of the best places we have stayed at. This place place is fantastic. The owner really has an eye for style and comfort and you can tell they really care and think about their guests. The staff here are the best! They give you 5 star treatment, nothing is too much and they are very warm and welcoming to you. This is a high value place for many reasons: the property is kept exceptionally well, the grounds are beautiful, the staff!, the rooms & beds are very comfortable, the decor throughout the building is very stylish & pleasant and they offer laundry service and the place is very very clean. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Also, not too far from the Sintra Palace & Castle which we visited and really enjoyed, worth going to see!

Negativ:: Die angepriesene Family Suite war viel zu klein. Eine Spüle mit nur kaltem Wasser, kein Tisch und ein Minizimmer mit Stockbett in dem sich immer nur einer bewegen kann. Für uns ein schlechter Tausch-gebucht waren zwei Doppelzimmer. Zudem hat die Family Suite im Gegensatz zu allen anderen Zimmern weder Balkon noch Terrasse. Obwohl das Frühstück bis 10.30h ging würde ab 10.00h kein Rührei aufgefüllt. Oder mal nachgefragt ob noch Bedarf sei. Es waren stets mehr als drei Angestellte im Haus die überall rumsprangen-wäre also kein Problem gewesen.... Schade.

Positiv:: This was my first time traveling here, the price was right sight unseen & I was pleasantly surprised! I was running late for check in but Elena was waiting with a warm smile. The studio room has a very comfy bed & sheets, blackout drapes, a kitchenette with small fridge/utensils/pans/microwave/etc, bathroom with a very roomy shower stall k first aid kit(!). I chose to pay for the breakfast which ran from 8:30-10:30, there were 5 different jams, scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, breads, yogurt, juices, coffee, fruit, etc. Marta was lovely, a very good hostess & able to converse with everyone....I wonder how many languages she can speak. The breakfast area is in the main house, then up another flight of stairs, where you also find coffee/tea & sitting area & tv I think. Under the breakfast table glass were thank you notes from previous guests, especially children, lovely and very cozy.

Negativ:: Too many keys, one for outside gate, one for main house and one for my room. Maybe they could be marked which is for which door, was confusing in the dark. Also, Apple & google maps have the property listed on the wrong street, I did report it to Apple.

Positiv:: It is very clear that the owner has eye to detail. The rooms are very spacious and well designed. The gated lawned outdoor area , the restaurant and the upper terrace are beautiful. Parking is also very easy. Location is comfortable if you have a car.

Negativ:: The manager could improve her approach. Service with a smile could give this property s 5 star rating. The check process can be improved.

Beim Check-in bekommt man gleich eine kleine Karte mit den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten und sie sagt einen auch Tipps und so / Frühstück lecker, es gibt was Süßes und Brot, Brötchen mit Käse, Wurst, auch Müsli, also alles dabei / Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet / Sehr Familiär / schöner weitläufiger Garten mit Pool zum entspannen / im Hof kann man Parken, was echt super ist, da in Sintra die Parkplatzsituation katastrophal ist! / Lage: super, in 5-10 Minuten ist man überall hingelaufen, Bahnhof ist nur 5 min weg.

Positiv:: Wonderful property with a beautiful garden pool area to relax and cool off in. Centrally located, an easy walk into town. The owner and her daughter Phillipa were so nice and gave us great tips for how to arrange our day. There is so much to see in Sintra and they guided us perfectly! I loved our room, it was spacious with a beautiful large bathroom. Great historic house with parking! I would definitely stay here again.

Positiv:: I am from the US and I am finding the beds throughout Europe very firm and with no mattress cover. I much prefer how I make my bed in the US! But other than that the bed was very nice.

Positiv:: Quiet and nice surroundings with ample parking - once there easy arrangements for coming and going to visit all the beautiful places and friendly advice.

Negativ:: Just finding it in the first place as the streets were very steep and narrow!

Positiv:: This was a perfect guest house for our stay in Sintra. The daughter of the owner (front desk) was welcoming and kind. It's an easy walk from the train station and into the center of town (except there is a hill, so wear good walking shoes). The grounds are beautiful. We didn't get to swim in the pool because it was a little too cold, but it looked nice and clean. We enjoyed a pleasant breakfast each morning of our stay. Both our rooms were very quiet and clean. It is also easy to catch an Uber in the front of the guest house. The wifi worked and the bed was comfortable. The shower always had hot water. I highly recommend the restaurant Incomum (walking distance from guest house) during your visit. We enjoyed the little historical touches like the well and the story of the poet that once lived there.

Negativ:: the bongalow was musty/stale. the smell was therefore really stuffy. the windows were not clean, the terrase looked not maintained, leaves were not wiped away. we did not use the kitchen, a sink should shine. the gray carpet on the floor would better be moved away, it looks old, dity. all together gives not a welcoming impression. the bungalow was not appropriate for such a price level as we paid. it seemed like a long time ago since the room was properly cleand.

Negativ:: Der moderige Geruch stört etwas. Das gesamte Untergeschoss hat ein Feuchtigkeitsproblem. Das zwingt dazu immer ein Fenster offen zu lassen. Außerdem und das ist der Punkt, das ist nicht Sintra. Vielleicht Großraum. Aber das was der Urlauber unter Sintra versteht ist ohne Auto nicht zu erreichen. Das Anwesen ist in einem kleinen Dorf, eingebettet in eine ausgesprochen hässliche Trabantenstadt.

Negativ:: Hard and uncomfortable beds, a damp smell in the rooms. The surroundings were not attractive, however not visible from inside the Quinta.

Positiv:: Very friendly people owning and running the place. The estate has a sense of history about it. Large territory. Spacious room with a large number of electrical sockets in it. Nice swimming pool.

Positiv:: Really helpful owners and staff. They went beyond and above to help me and my family during a really stressful time (car broke down during at the beg. of our stay). They allowed us to stay a couple of extra days without reservations and helped with logistics of train, meals, and mechanic.

Negativ:: Die Unterkünfte werden als "Suiten" bezeichnet, was sie allerdings bis auf die Größe nicht sind! Ältere Gebäude mit alten Möbeln haben sicher einen gewissen Flair, aber Sie sollten auch einen gewissen Komfort und Benutzbarkeit aufweisen. Das Frühstück und auch der Frühstücksraum entsprechen in keinster Weise dem Preisniveau. Hier wäre mit geringem Aufwand sehr viel mehr möglich. Wir hatten leider einen aktuellen Vermieterwechsel, sodass ein persönlicher Kontakt nicht zustande kam.

Positiv:: Lovely setting with horses in a rural setting. The host was very helpful and invited us to have some fresh sardines with her family. Pool and pool area is really good with nice sun loungers. Tbe use of a small kitchen and bbq is great when you don't fancy having to go out. The welcome drinks and fruit were really appreciated and a nice touch. Overall we loved it. My daughter especially loved petting the horses. A lovely place for families.

Negativ:: It was just a little damp because the building is over 250 years old if you can live with that it perfect. Amazing place.

Positiv:: Tolles Frühstück (täglich neu konzipiert, viel Abwechslung bei Obst, Käse, Wurst etc.), extreme Ruhe, phantastisches großes Zimmer in einem mit sehr viel Liebe großartig restaurierten Haus. Obwohl sehr alt, modernste Technik (perfekt funktionierende Fußbodenheizung!). Ausführlichste Beratung durch den Hausherrn zur Begrüßung (30 Minuten in Wohnzimmer-ähnlicher Rezeption), Flasche Wein als Willkommensgruß sowie gratis Minibar. Überragend jedoch die Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft (phantastische Tipps für Restaurants, Ausflugsziele etc.) des englischen Besitzer-Ehepaars.

Negativ:: Leider kein Ei zum Frühstück, was aber zu verschmerzen ist. Fehlender Fernseher? Na und, haben wir zu keiner Sekunde vermißt. Ist uns übrigens erst am 5. Tag aufgefallen, als Hausherr Tony von diesbezüglichen "Beschwerden" erzählte...

Positiv:: Das Hostel liegt nur wenige Gehminuten vom historischen Zentrum von Sintra entfernt und wird durch sehr freundliches Personal geführt. Je nach Ansprechpartner erhält man sehr individuelle und gute Tipps zu Aktionen in Sintra. Das Hostel hat einen netten Garten in dem Abends auch Getränke ausgeschenkt werden. Während unseres Aufenthalts fand ein sehr nettes und geselliges BBQ statt, welches preislich ebenfalls sehr attraktiv war.

Negativ:: Die Erreichbarkeit des Hostels per Auto ist schwierig. Unser Navi hatte im Gewirr der Einbahnstraßen, deren Verkehrsführung sich wohl regelmäßig ändert, erhebliche Probleme.

Positiv:: Lets go in points and then add a short story: 1. Amazing staff- as soon as you get inside the hostel for a checkin you feel like home. 2. Great Breakfast 3. AMAZING shared dinner - was only 12 Euros and it was so good, it got everyone together and broke the ice for many people, like myself. if you go there its a must if you ask me 4. Cool place - the place looks so cool and stylished, makes you feel like you are in some summer camp house or a vacation house 5. Great walking tours - each day they have a walking tour at 10am (ish) and they take you to the castles in a very cool hiking route and give you some history of the city and of the castles. I did it with David and it was amazing, even gave me new info about other castles i've been in the day before I took the walking tour. There are so many other points to add but i'll just write my story and maybe it will give you the picture of what is NiceWaySintra. I came there just to leave my luggage and got out of there with a huge smile and a ton of info about Sintra and activities there. The bedrooms and the place itself (and of course the beautiful garden) makes you feel like you are back to summer camp where everything is from wood and you just want to stay in the hostel to go back to the good memories. It was the first stop for me in Portugal and I was alone on this trip so it was a bit hard to talk with people, but the dinner just made everyone open up and we didnt want to go to sleep , not even at 4 am. We connected so much thanks to that dinner that I got to meet 1 girl from there 2 weeks later on Porto and 2 guys a week after in Lisbon. Something about the shared dinner really gets people to connect. So I think that if you are in Lisbon area and want to go out to nature for 2 days, You should definitely stay at NiceWaySintra. If I could I would go back to Sintra just to stay there for 2 more nights.

Negativ:: The showers are not perfect but good enough

Positiv:: I loved the fact that the bed had curtains. It makes it a more personal space. The social space (garden) was a perfect place for meeting new people!!! The shower was great! Many times I gave up taking a shower because I couldn't lock the door or just didn't have a door whatsoever! This one was complete luxury.

Negativ:: The toilet cubicles were bit uncomfortable. Funnily enough I kept hitting my head to the door every time I tried to squat. Regardless, it was super clean.

Positiv:: Perfect Location. Very enjoyable Garden Space. Colorful Living Room. Great People.

Negativ:: I know this is a Hostel..and i have not seen the dorm room, but our double room could have needed a bit more atmospheric cosiness :-) "Gemütlichkeit"

Positiv:: I loved this hostel. The owner was very cool and extremely helpful. The garden and bar out the back is so cool and relaxing. The staff are all nice and its a very cool building in a nice quiet area. Its everything I like in a hostel.

Negativ:: Its a bit pricey but kinda worth it;)

Positiv:: Nice way has a great vibe, and seemed to attract a nice mix of travellers of all ages (including our own family which has a child in tow). Taco Thursdays were delicious, happy hour made the garden the best bar in town. Our room (a private room with bathroom) was lovely and clean, in a separate 'family' building so it's quieter for kids. Staff know all the sights and gave us some great tips. It's a short walk to town, just set far enough away that you feel like you've escaped the many many tourists of Sintra - a great hostel all round!

Positiv:: Es gibt einen schönen Gemeinschaftsgarten mit einer Bar. Man ist nach wenigen Minuten direkt im Stadtzentrum. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit. Ein Frühstück kann kostenpflichtig dazu gebucht werden (2,50€).

Negativ:: Die Klospülung lief fast ununterbrochen. Das Zimmer war recht klein, was vielleicht nicht Jedermanns Sache ist.

Positiv:: Sauber, komfortabel, schön eingerichtet und dekoriert. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Das Personal fantastisch! Tolle Aussicht von unserem Zimmer.

Positiv:: Wow! What a place. A beautiful estate right outside the historic district of sintra with a homey feel and the sweetest staff. Our room was beautiful and clean as was our bathroom. The staff helped us book dinner reservations and Charlotte (the owner) helped us find a car!!! It felt like home! You can walk into town and take a bus to all the main spots and the view from the courtyard of casa miradouro is spectacular. 10/10 would recommend!

Positiv:: Beautiful 19th century mansion converted to an inn. Lovely lobby and sitting room with high ceilings. Some rooms have expansive or castle views. It seems like a wealthy family fell into hard times, and had to share their family home.

Negativ:: Steep walk uphill into town. A little isolated. Not that bad since you can depend on uber for about 4 e. Not all rooms have a good view. Extra charge for a cup of coffee.

Positiv:: A Pleasing Experience. Room,Staff, Location, Garden, View.

Negativ:: The Breakfast needed just a little more variety for the "Herbivores" :-)

Positiv:: The house itself - so beautiful, so local, perfectly matches the romantic surroundings. Also very comfortable.

Positiv:: It is close to the nicest beach in Sagres. Nice and quiet. Fairly easy walk to the main town. All in all very good. Pre-arrival communication is very good. The kitchen is well-equiped if you are making your own meals. Great view out the back porch.

Positiv:: Breakfast was fine. Location beautiful but a an uphill trek to cafes etc

Negativ:: Bed was disappointing-soft saggy and uncomfortable.

Positiv:: Schöne großzügige Aufenthaltsräume. Schöne Terrasse. Ruhige alte Villa.

Negativ:: Zimmer mit Blick auf eine Baustelle. Türschloss defekt. Komplizierte Anfahrt

Positiv:: Cleanliness, location

Negativ:: Bathtub water color
